🌟 December Employee Spotlight: Reba E! 🌟

This month, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on Reba Ellis, a compassionate and dedicated member of our Deer Crest team. Reba began her career in senior care at just 17 years old, and her heart for helping others has only grown since.

Reba shared that while caregiving can be challenging at times, “putting myself in their shoes makes it easier to care for them.” She loves getting to know our residents and their families, and it shows in the meaningful connections she builds every day.

Outside of work, Reba is endlessly creative—she has taught herself to knit, crochet, and sew! She says, “When I want to learn something, I challenge myself to learn it. My dad always said, ‘Don’t stop until you finish.’ I’ll never be finished learning new things.”

We are so grateful for your dedication, Reba. Thank you for the compassion, curiosity, and heart you bring to Deer Crest! 💚🦌

Meet Michelle — she’s been in senior care for over 23 years and brings caring, respect, and compassion to everything she does! 💚

Her favorite part of the job?
“Helping residents keep their independence and seeing them smile when they say, ‘Oh! It’s you!’”

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with family, reading, puzzles, and photography — she even painted the picture a picture for one of our residents! 🎨

Fun fact: Her dream trip is to see polar bears in the wild in Churchill, Manitoba! 🐻❄️

On Thursday last week, we proudly unveiled our communities Wall of Honor - a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. Each photo displayed represents a veteran who lives in our community or the spouse of one who has called Deer Crest home.
A very special thank you to our muralist, Dena June Creations, for helping our community's vision come to life, and to all who joined us in celebrating these remarkable individuals.
