Last month we lost a dear friend of ours. A long time GWP owner, dog sport and agility enthusiast, Susan McKeever was one of the greatest people I have ever met through my years in dogs. She always set the bar high and reached for the stars. Sue had been working on Presto’s Agility Grand Championship, a prestigious lifetime achievement title in AKC agility, awarded to dogs that demonstrate exceptional skill and consistency across all agility classes, requiring hundreds of qualifying scores in high-level Standard, Jumpers, FAST, and T2B (Time 2 Beat) event.
Unfortunately Sue passed away just before Presto could finish his AGCH, only needing one Q left to achieve the title and become the first GWP to earn a AGCH. Sue’s friend, Susan Holmes ran Presto in hopes of getting that last qualifying run needed to finish Presto’s title. Over the weekend, they not only got the last Q but also got first place in Premier. I want to thank Susan for running Presto and making Sue’s dreams come true. Sue loved her dogs more than words could describe and I know she is smiling down in heaven knowing Presto is the very first GWP to earn his Agility Grand Championship. Her passion and dedication to her dogs will always be remembered.
