From a young age, we’re taught to ignore our body’s messages. Young children with a lot of energy or who struggle to sit still (self soothing attempts) are labeled as hyperactive. We learn very little about the body besides some basic anatomy. And when someone gets very sick they’re told “your body is attacking you.” When we have symptoms or issues with mental health, the idea is to ignore the body. And to repress symptoms.

It’s no longer we don’t listen to ourselves. It’s no wonder we mute our intuition. It’s no wonder we push ourselves past the point of exhaustion.

The body is always trying to protect us. It’s always sending subtle cues. It’s wise
