Today we celebrated a day in the month of Hispanic Heritage Month with some Coffee & Conchas! We read about the history of these famous sweet breads and its culture for the Hispanics then got to have a taste of it with a warm cup of coffee. However, Ms Jenny wasn't very impressed with the Conchas because they would've been more moist at the panaderia where she gets them haha...🍞💃

Shout out to our vendor Beyond Gray who designed this gorgeous backdrop for our photos. The beautiful southern style florals and the colors gave off such a vibrant feeling in our dining room. Thank you to all who made this awesome party happen, to the Kitchen team, the Lifestyle department, the volunteers, and the Care staff who pour out their lives for these residents🧡🤎 We also thank all the special guests who came, we hope you had as much fun as we did.

Some wholesome pictures captured yesterday at our Taste of Southern September Party! It was definitely one to remember. With the delicious flavors of the South, the Shrimp & Chicken Jambalaya, fried okra, banana pudding, and pies, the sound of music from Michael Finn, the fresh flower centerpieces and the lively dancing. Everyone getting up and having a good time, making memories that will last a lifetime, Southern-style. Thank you all for joining us on this special southern themed day🌼🌱🥧🐥

Fall time Sliced Candy Apples and Apple Fritters! The autumn season is here and that means APPLE APPLES APPLES! We have been making all sorts of apple creations. The residents are part of each step; the peeling, the cutting, the mixing, the decorating. The creations are endless with apples. Come and join us in our culinary activities👨‍🍳🧑‍🍳

Let's make flowers out of Coffee Filters! We are very proud of how these turned out. We watercolored some coffee filters, let them dry, and then formed them into beautiful flower bouquets. Flor is very excited to make them for his wife someday❤️

Such beautiful weather this Friday for decorating donuts and a cheerful Happy Hour! Today at Creation Station we went outside to make our own, unique glazed donuts. They ended up looking so delicious, some looked too good they got eaten on the spot! Then this afternoon we had our Happy Hour and our residents got to serve the wonderful donuts that they crafted up. Thank God it's Friday!

Happy National Cheese Pizza Day!🍕

Hand-made dough, topped with joy, and baked with love! Today our residents had a blast building their own pizza, one of their favorite foods. The process started yesterday when we made the dough and let it rise. Then today, we rolled out the dough and topped it with LOTS of cheese! It was so fun with everyone involved, and it engaged with all of our senses. Our volunteers and staff tasted it as well... 10 out of 10!

We got residents who used to garden in the old days so we're here reviving that skill in our own facility! Residents like Debbie, Jennie, Nancy, Lynda, Juanita, and Carole enjoy watering the plants and keeping our garden healthy. Such a wonderful way to be engaged and keep our facility beautiful...🪴

It is very important that we are keeping our residents hydrated in this heat!☀️ Hydration is vital to avoid confusion, agitation, and even falls. So here is our Resident Committee making a summer fruit salad. We got Aida plucking off grapes, Jeanie cutting pear, Jackie cutting plums, and Nancy slicing the green apples. They had a blast cutting away and snacking on the fruit as they went!
