Feeling like you need a little sunshine and warmth in your day? ☀️ Shake up this Acapulco cocktail for something refreshing. It's so easy to make you'd wonder why you didn't make it sooner:

🔸 1 oz. of tequila
🔸 1 oz. of rum
🔸 1 oz. pink grapefruit juice
🔸 1 oz. pineapple juice
🔸 1/3 oz. of sugar syrup (omit if both juices have enough sugar)

Shake all the ingredients with ice. Strain into a glass full of ice.

Our hands are used for our self-expression, as well as handling day-to-day tasks. Hands are a common and visible area of the body affected by . Arthritis is not a single disease but a term referring to joint pain or disease, of which there are numerous types. Needless to say, it’s a painful condition that, while not curable, can be kept at bay:

🏋🏽‍♀️ Maintaining a healthy weight by exercising regularly. Strengthening your muscles eases the pressure on the bones affected by arthritis.

🎾 Limiting high-impact sports and repetitive motions that lead to wear and tear on the joints.

🍎 Eating vegetables, fruits, and whole grains in place of processed foods, sugar, and unhealthy fats to decrease inflammation.

We do our best to be good to others but how often are we good to ourselves? Do yourself a favor and stop the negative self-talk. This serves no purpose other than discouragement and chipping away at our .

When you find yourself speaking negatively to yourself, you must stop that runaway train of thought. Try to reframe the situation and get on a different track with thoughts of self-affirmation. “You are good enough”— think along these lines because it’s true. Surround yourself with people who make you feel better about yourself and inspire you.

Life is too short to live in negativity, so be good to yourself 🫶🏽

All of the sweet, decadent, and eye-catching treats of the holiday season can be so hard to resist. It’s a special time of year so allow yourself some portion-sized desserts, but don’t forget the importance of your own overall health either. Around 30% of Americans aged 65 years or older live with — a completely preventable disease.

While you don’t need to drop all the sweets cold turkey, here are a few ways to enjoy everything delicious while still keeping up with your health:

👟 Move your body. Even if it’s a simple 20-minute walk a day to start. Exercise strengthens your heart and muscles, and shaves those pounds off that can contribute to diabetes.

🥑 Strive to add more plant foods to your diet - These will add fiber to slow sugar absorption and lower your blood sugar. Fiber-rich food will also keep your weight down. Get some veggies into the mix if you’re anticipating a rich meal or add some fruits or nuts into your snack time.

🍽️ Practice portion control - During the holidays, this might be a huge ask. Use a smaller plate so you don’t overload and after you finish your plate, wait 20 minutes before going back for seconds. And you can still eat what you want, just savoring them in small pieces.
