Discover Yoga

Discover Yoga A space where each student is given an opportunity to explore yoga and its practices in a way that is supportive and adaptable to their particular needs.

Serving Redmond's community since 1997. Discover Yoga, Discover Yourself
Discover Yoga was established in 1997 in the Stonehouse bookstore in Redmond. Since its inception, the teachers and staff have been committed to serving our students through instruction of yoga postures, breathing and meditation techniques as well as the history and philosophy of Yoga. In the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya, known as Viniyoga, our instructors have learned to adapt each class to the needs of the students. Viniyoga’s focus on individualised teaching, modifications and adaptations of the poses, and attention to breath provide the opportunity to begin at any level and deepen your practice with each class you attend. Yoga For Every Body
At Discover Yoga we firmly believe that yoga is for Every Body. There are no bodies that aren’t right for yoga, everyone can benefit from the healing, growth and deeper peace that a yoga practice can provide. As well as building strength, flexibility and overall good health in the physical body, yoga also works on the mental, emotional and personality levels to bring greater ease, joy and freedom to your life. The limitations of your physical body should never be a barrier to the health boosting benefits of practicing yoga. You won’t find any one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter yoga at DY. Viniyoga is all about adapting all of the postures and techniques to the individual student. Each class at our studio is different and reflects the needs of the students practicing in class that day. Our instructors are all trained to adapt and modify the poses to help make them accessible in some form to every student. Some of our students even practice all or part of their class seated in a chair! We can assure you that no matter your age, shape, size, stage of life or level of ability you’ll be able to find classes at our studio that you’ll enjoy and feel comfortable and successful in. What are you waiting for? Our caring, knowledgeable instructors will make you feel right at home, answer your questions and help you find a way to move that is safe and appropriate for your body. New Students can try 2 classes for just $20

Sink into a deeply restorative sound bath designed to calm the nervous system and invite the body into a state of rest.

Through the gentle layering of sound and vibration, this experience supports a natural shift from doing into being — allowing the mind to quiet, the breath to soften, and the body to receive.

Sound has a unique way of moving through us, creating subtle resonance that can help release tension and restore balance. Whether you are new to sound baths or returning to your practice, this is a space to simply lie down, listen, and allow.

What an amazing trip we had! Costa Rica did not disappoint.

In addition to daily yoga sessions, we had many adventures. A chocolate making experience in Uvita, a hike at Hacienda Ebano with waterfalls, a cacao ceremony and a kayak tour through the mangrove in Rio Terraba.

The food was amazing, and our hosts were exceptional. Danyasa Retreat Center will hold a special place in our hearts.

Be sure to stay tuned to find out where we will go next....

Join us for an evening of diving into the practice of Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that invites deep rest while maintaining gentle awareness—offering a space to settle into comfortable presence with your true self. In this workshop, we’ll explore the roots of Yoga Nidra within yogic philosophy, touch on what modern medical science tells us about its benefits, and address common misconceptions about the practice. Through discussion and a guided experience, you’ll learn how Yoga Nidra can be a supportive, accessible tool to integrate into daily life for rest, clarity, and self-connection.

Blooming Within: A Spring Equinox Sound Journey with Rebecca

As day and night come into perfect balance, this Spring Equinox sound journey invites you to pause, soften, and turn inward. Through immersive sound and vibration, we’ll create space for gentle awakening—honoring what has been resting beneath the surface and allowing new intentions to naturally emerge. Rather than striving or forcing change, this experience supports quiet alignment, inner balance, and the subtle blooming that happens in its own time.

Coming this weekend! Grab your partner and come join Tristin for this very informative workshop.

There are two kinds of birth partners, those who step up to their potential, and those who show up only to get pushed to the periphery. While many birth classes offer comfort techniques and tools for birth partners, few teach how to use those tools under the pressure of labor. This is like expecting a child who just learned their alphabet to also be able to read.

Learning how to support birth requires more than a list of tools, like learning to read takes more than a list of alphabet letters. It takes knowledge of a few key aspects of the birth process and understanding the dynamics of the birth room to step up into the role of a capable birth partner. With that knowledge, applying the tools comes naturally. That's what you will learn in this couples workshop!

Starting March 20th! Join Priyanka for this new weekly offering....

End your week by decompressing the "central processing unit" of your body and reclaiming your Friday evening. This 7:00 PM session focuses on Pristha Shakti, the vital strength and flexibility of the spine, offering a gentle, grounding sequence designed to create space between the vertebrae and release the physical tension and lower back compression that accumulates throughout a busy week.

Whether you’ve spent your days at a desk, managing a household, or simply navigating the pace of daily life, Friday at 7:00 PM is the ultimate transition point to let go of stored fatigue. This practice serves as a restorative ritual to flush out the week’s mental "cache" and physical stiffness, replacing them with a renewed sense of vitality. By shifting into this state of alignment and calm, you ensure your weekend starts with lightness and presence, leaving you ready to enjoy your Saturday with a refreshed body and a peaceful mind.

Feeling under-prepared for birth or overwhelmed by conflicting advice?

This class goes beyond “pain management” to teach you how to work with your brain and nervous system to find your flow state so labor feels more manageable, focused, and supported.

When you're in a flow state, your brain releases natural pain-relieving neuro-chemicals. What makes birth feel harder than it should isn’t the intensity of labor itself, but fear, interruptions, and environments that disrupt your flow state and lessen the effect of your innate pain-control mechanisms.

Flow isn't fluff, it's neuroscience that can work for anyone willing to put in the practice to learn how to work with your flow state.

In this class you’ll learn:

~How the physiology and neuroscience of labor affect pain perception, focus, and decision-making so you can trust your mind and body
~Simple flow-science tools to regulate your nervous system using breath, rhythm, movement, and environmental cueing so you maintain control of your environment and birth
~How partners can provide effective support that protects flow and your sense of safety to keep your labor progressing
~Science-backed practices to prepare your brain to enter flow so birth feels more familiar, controlled, and supported
~This is not about pushing through pain, but learning how to work with your flow state for a birth with more ease and trust so you can go from fear to flow.
