Emerald Heights, sponsored by Emerald Communities, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) retirement housing and service organization that provides innovative programs which foster culture, vitality and independence. The community is a life care Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that accommodate residents’ changing needs throughout the aging process. Situated on 38 acres in the Education Hill area of Redmond, Wash., just 17 miles northeast of Seattle, Emerald Heights is an amenity-rich senior living community, plus an assisted living facility and a Medicare-certified skilled nursing health center. The campus opened in 1992 to provide housing and service to people ages 55 and older in the aspects of independent, assisted living and skilled nursing.

While the city of Seattle filled the streets to celebrate the Seattle Seahawks and their epic Super Bowl LX win, we decided to host our own Emerald Heights Victory Lap right here at home.

Residents and team members showed up in full 12’s style, ready to cheer, celebrate, and relive every unforgettable moment. Plenty of spirit. Plenty of smiles. And best of all… no traffic. 😉

Sweet treat at Emerald Heights!

Residents and staff enjoyed a special pop-up gelato tasting with our preferred partner, Nutty Squirrel Gelato , sampling inventive flavors like lemon custard cookies, pistachio di Siccilia, and lavender vanilla while learning more about this delicious new addition to our menu.

Rain or shine, the line was out the door for this fun treat. We can already tell this partnership is going to bring many more smiles and new flavors our way! 🍦

Community Impact in Action at Emerald Heights

We were honored to welcome 15 nonprofit organizations to Emerald Heights for our recent Social Accountability Grant presentations, supporting local organizations that strengthen our community, enrich the lives of others, and further our mission of service.

This year, a total of $305,000 was awarded to organizations working across our greater community. Each organization shared more about their mission, how the grant dollars will support their work, and ways individuals can take action or get involved.

This gathering is one of the highlights of our year. It offers a meaningful opportunity to learn more about the important work being done in service of others throughout our community.

We are grateful to play a role in the betterment of our community.

Holiday spirit and creativity were on full display this week at Emerald Heights!

Our gingerbread house showcase featured an array of festive design designs created by residents and team members, bringing smiles and seasonal cheer throughout the community. A special shout out to our EVS team, who truly took creativity to the next level with their standout design.

At Emerald Heights, community is strengthened through connection and kindness.

Cards for Corwin is a resident-led group dedicated to ensuring no one feels alone. Throughout the year, these residents write and share handwritten cards with neighbors living in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care, offering moments of friendship and companionship.

Earlier this week, the group gathered for a special tea to celebrate their shared mission. Filled with conversation, laughter, and a cheerful visit from Santa, the gathering was a reminder that while the season offers opportunities to come together, the spirit of care and community at Emerald Heights is carried forward year-round.
