Accuracy and workflow efficiency shouldn't be a trade-off when it comes to bladder volume assessment.

Whether you’re looking for a faster, more intuitive workflow, or focused on reducing CAUTIs and standardizing care, modern bladder scanning technology is changing the game.

Our Guide to Bladder Scanners breaks down what you need to know about the current standard of care, including:

✅ Differences between mechanical probes vs. phased-array technology
✅ How AI can automate bladder detection and volume calculations to reduce user variability
✅ The clinical impact on preventing unnecessary catheterizations and improving patient comfort

Bladder scanner measurements can vary by ~40mL from the true bladder volume.

That might not sound like much, but in practice, it can completely change a clinical decision.

Overestimating bladder volume can lead to unnecessary catheterization. Underestimating it can mean missed urinary retention and delayed care.

That is why accuracy matters.

Kosmos Bladder Scanner can detect volumes from 4mL to 1535mL, with precision within ±3mL for volumes under 100mL and ±3% for volumes between 100mL and 600mL.

Because better data leads to better decisions, and better outcomes for your patients.

Today we’re highlighting National Doctors’ Day, an observance that traces back to 1842, when Dr. Crawford W. Long first used general anesthesia.

It’s a day dedicated to the progress, expertise, and commitment of physicians.

At EchoNous, we’re proud to support doctors with innovative, high-quality ultrasound products that help them provide exceptional patient care wherever they are.

Thank you, Doctors!

On Capitol Hill, the AIUM participated in the Medical Technology Showcase, which gave Congressional staffers an opportunity to learn more about ultrasound and other forms of medical imaging. Kevin Haworth presented on behalf of the AIUM and taught attendees about the basics of ultrasound.

EchoNous provided the KOSMOS handheld AI ultrasound equipment and the vascular phantom for this event.

Managing a protracted labor or a complex epidural placement should lean on precise, objective data – not estimations.

Point-of-care ultrasound is fundamentally changing L&D workflows, providing a direct line of sight when clinical decisions are most critical.

By integrating bedside imaging, clinicians can rely on quantifiable metrics to drive their strategies. For example, preprocedural ultrasound in Labor and Delivery increases first-pass epidural success by nearly 50%. That is just one way bedside imaging is transforming obstetric care.

Read our new article to see the data behind these applications and learn how is redefining patient safety in L&D.

The power of intelligent medical tools for common everyday problems in healthcare

EchoNous began with adding AI to ultrasound for bladder care, then added a peripheral IV insertion tool. Now, KOSMOS, the first AI-assisted handheld ultrasound tool to increase diagnostic confidence at the bedside, is available. In the future, together with healthcare providers we expect to transform medical care with transcendent, intelligent, AI-enhanced medical tools.
