Gentle Holiday Wellness Support (From Me to You)
Hereβs a list I made for myself whenever I go to social gatherings. Itβs a game-changer for how I feel: mentally and physically. I hope it supports you, too.
1. Love yourself first.
Kindness toward your body sets the tone for everything else.
2. Drink water - lots of it!
Hydration supports your digestion, energy, and clarity.
3. Donβt try to lose weight during the holidays, aim to maintain.
The Holidays are to be enjoyed! Give yourself grace. The goal is balance, not pressure.
4. Eat a light, nourishing snack before you go.
A salad, half an avocado, nuts or a small bowl of veggies or fruit can help curb your appetite and keep your blood sugar steady.
5. Iβm a food snob (and proud!)
Check out the buffet before filling your plate. Choose the foods you love and the ones you donβt normally eat during the year.
6. Bring your own healthy dish.
It gives you something nourishing to enjoy and usually inspires others, too.
7. Donβt skip meals.
It backfires. Steady fueling keeps your mood and metabolism happy.
Holiday-Specific Tips:
If you eat turkey, go for pasture-raised when possible, better for your body and better for the planet.
Season with purpose:
Add sage, thyme, and rosemary: theyβre loaded with antioxidants that support energy, brain function, digestionβ¦and they taste amazing.
If you enjoy wine, choose wisely:
A glass of dry, antioxidant-rich red, like Pinot Noir, can complement your meal without the heaviness.
Move gently after your meal:
A simple walk helps digestion, mood, and blood sugar.
The next day:
Hydrate like crazy
Take a long walk
Load up on leafy greens
Give yourself a gut reset (intermittent fasting works for me)
Support your digestion:
Holiday food can be constipating. I always recommend having a gentle bowel-cleansing supplement on hand.
And hereβs what I always do after a big holiday night: I take 3-4 quality, activated charcoal capsules with 8β12 ounces of water. It helps pull toxins and makes me feel much better in the morning. (May not want to use charcoal if taking medications, it can interfere.)
And My Favorite Simple Comfort Food "YAM" Tip (simple, delicious, nurturing):
Wash 1 "YAM" with skin, cut up into bitesize portions and boil for 10β12 minutes, or until tender.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top, sea salt optional.
No butter needed! ENJOY!
*Itβs warm, sweet, grounding, and so good for your digestion.
Try it, you might be surprised how much you love it!
Align your mind, nourish your body, heal your life.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season &
Be Healthy, Happy and Forever in Love with Life! And don't forget to share with family & friends!
