Community Cornerstone Inc. (CCI) in Redway, Ca. is a non-profit public benefit corporation founded in 1985 for the sole purpose of providing training opportunities to physically, mentally and developmentally disabled adults living in Southern Humboldt and Northern Mendocino Counties. The goal of CCI is to help these individuals reach their potential in self-esteem, quality of life and ability to participate in their surrounding community. Community Cornerstone organizes and hosts a special sporting event called the Redwood Summer Games every year for the past 23 years. This event brings approximately 400 people from all over California to participate and volunteer for the weekend in the activities. At the Redwood Summer Games we have a small store which sells item’s for the campers to enjoy. These Items are donated or sold to us at discounted prices. The donations we need for the Redwood Summer Games are cases of Soda’s, Water, Gatorade, Juice Boxes, Snacks- individual small bags of Chips, Granola Bars, Candy Bars, Pastries, Little Debbie treats, Nuts, small boxes of Cereal, Ice Cream and Ice Cream Cones ( any Flavor ), Healthy and Sugar-free snacks & small toiletries. These Items are all sold for no more then a dollar. This special event is sometimes the only opportunity for these special athletes and volunteers to meet new people and enjoy a fun filled weekend camping and participating in sport’s events designed especially for them in the redwoods. This years Redwood Summer Games event will be held from the 14th to the 17th of August.
