Thanks for your interest in Motherhood Stories - A Women’s Circle! In this group, you will connect with others in your shared experience as mothers, feel empowered by the strength of women in your community, and learn to integrate and prioritize your own needs.

The group is open to moms at least 1 year postpartum. Meeting the first Wednesday of every month in Redwood City.

An Empowering Prenatal Experience

Gather in community with other expectant mothers to celebrate your pregnancy and honor your matrescence, the developmental rite of passage to becoming a mother. The ceremony will feature a mother's tea circle and fear releasing meditation. We will use the power of ritual through the red thread ceremony and mindfully craft hope-infused birthing bracelets. Through the art of circling, women are encouraged to share their truths, be witnessed by others, and experience a profound sense of connection and wisdom.

Opening the doors to my new therapy office in Redwood City has been a labor of love—a deeply personal journey that has been months in the making. What started as a single, bare room has now transformed into a space of healing and safety, a place where women can find support, validation, and empowerment in their journey through motherhood.

The transformation of this space was a family effort. Over the course of several months, we replaced the flooring, painted the walls, carefully selected furniture, and added warm, inviting decor. Every brushstroke, every piece of furniture, and every detail in the room was chosen with intention—to create a space where women feel seen, heard, and understood. Thank you to my community, who played a role in bringing this vision to life, making this space not only one of healing but also of love and dedication.

Thank you for your connection and engagement with me over the past year. I’m grateful to know you as we work to build a stronger sense of community in motherhood.

This has been a big year for Becoming Mothers Counseling! I launched my new website, was invited to give a number of community talks and presentations, and moved into a brand new office. It’s a rather nondescript building in a residential area on the edge of Redwood City, but with much support this single, bare room has been transformed into a space of healing and safety. Over the course of many months, we worked to take out old carpet, paint the walls, and intentionally choose furniture and decor that would align with the vision of connecting and empowering mothers. It’s truly been a labor of love with many nights spent hanging shelves and paintings, followed by Chavez Market burritos sitting on the new hard wood floors.

Sharing another great tip that came out of the MotherTogether Mom & Baby Support Group last week.

Tip for calming an activated nervous system: When anxiety hits, try setting a timer for 20 minutes. It typically takes 20 minutes for Cortisol to cycle through your body. Cortisol , known as the “stress hormone,” plays a role in your body's fight-or-flight response. In stressful situations, your body releases cortisol to help you react quickly. Sometimes just remembering anxiety can't last forever, provides some relief!

I grew up dancing and doing performance music so I spent a lot of time trying to perfect my routines and art so I could get it right on stage.

In today's world, where we feel pressure to constantly document ourselves and our lives, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking of life as a performance. What if we thought of each day as an opportunity to try our best, do what we can, and practice forgiveness and self compassion when things don't go as planned?
