Proper inhaler technique may save your life! At Family Asthma and Allergy Center, doctors focus on patient education so that patients are prepared to take control of their asthma.

Make a promise to yourself to improve your inhaler technique. Take AAFA's online course for asthma at aafa.org/asthmacare (it's free!).

Inhalers can be difficult to use and most people do not get every step right. This can lead to uncontrolled asthma and ER visits.

If you have a metered dose inhaler (like in the picture), it is very important to follow the instructions for use. Most require shaking before each use.
