Our two fundraising Euchre Tournaments are back again this year! Mark your calendars for January 31 at the Big Rapids Elks and February 21 at the Baldwin AmVets.

These tournaments aren’t just a fun night out—they directly support our community‑funded hospice home, helping us provide compassionate, dignified care to families when they need it most. Every registration, every hand played, and every shared laugh truly makes a difference.

If the holidays feel heavier than they look… you’re not alone.

This season has a way of stirring up the best parts of life and the hardest ones at the very same time. Hospice Nurse Julie recently shared a powerful video about why grief can feel so intense during the holidays—and her words hit home for so many.

Maybe you’re missing someone. Maybe traditions don’t look the same. Maybe the world feels loud and cheerful while your heart feels quiet and tender. If that’s you, there is nothing wrong with you. You’re human.

Julie reminds us that it’s okay to loosen expectations, to honor the person you miss, to create new traditions, and to reach out before the weight gets too heavy. Grief doesn’t disappear just because the calendar turns festive.

There is room for grief and room for joy—sometimes in the same breath.
If this season feels different, be gentle with yourself. You’re carrying love, and that’s never small.

We are very thankful for the community that donates groceries and items we need in our household from our wish list! Our pantry is well stocked, and all our guests and visitors are able to grab a snack when wanted or needed. 💚
