We’re so grateful to be part of today’s Business & Community Expo at Justagame (JAG) here in Reedsburg!

Our team is set up and ready to connect. Stop by our booth to learn more about the levels of care and services we offer like Reminisce Adult Day Services, and how we support seniors and their families in our community every day. You’ll be greeted by our wonderful social worker Jessica or RCAC unit manager Lisa, who are happy to answer questions and share what makes our care so special. We're parked right next to the Resale Beyond the Expected and RAMC Foundation table. ☺️

Today some of our wonderful residents and tenants rolled up their sleeves to help fold and prepare recycled plastic bags for our Foundation’s thrift store Resale Beyond the Expected. With the shop busier than ever, having bags neatly ready makes a world of difference for our volunteers, staff and shoppers.

Of course, the work came with plenty of laughter. Our crew jokingly called it their “community service,” proudly dubbing themselves "The Bad Baggers" and the "Reedsburg Rebels." 😆

And there’s even more good in it: reusing plastic bags helps reduce waste, keeps materials out of landfills, conserves resources, and saves the store money that can go right back into supporting our community. It’s a simple way to care for both our neighbors and the environment.

Beyond helping the store and the environment, activities like this promote dexterity, coordination, and mental engagement while creating meaningful opportunities for conversation, storytelling, and friendship. What looks like a simple task becomes a time of connection, purpose, and shared pride. Lead by our amazing Life Enrichment Coordinator, LaVonne!

Busy hands, cheerful hearts, and a community that continues to give back.

History isn’t only found in textbooks, it lives in the stories of the people around us every day.

We’re excited to share Memory Lane, a new series at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center highlighting the lived history of our residents. Through personal conversations, we’ll share firsthand memories shaped by wartime childhoods, immigration journeys, changing communities, and the moments that defined an era.

Our first feature begins with Joe, whose life story offers a remarkable glimpse into a world many remember and others have only read about.

Today we’re shining a well-deserved spotlight on Jessica Good, our incredible Social Worker here at Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center.
Jessica has been part of our team for nearly 9 years, and during that time she has become such a core part of who we are. She is kind, hardworking, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable, and she shows up every single day with compassion and dedication for our residents, tenants, and team.

Whether she’s supporting residents and families through life’s challenges, offering guidance with patience and empathy, or reminding us all to take things one day, or even one moment, at a time, Jessica makes a real difference. Her passion for her work truly comes from life experience, and it shows in the thoughtful, genuine care she provides.

Thank you, Jess, for everything you do and for the heart you bring to our Senior Life Center. We are so grateful for your dedication and lucky to have you as part of the RASLC team!

🎻 Thank you to Mojo Music from Wisconsin Dells for sharing your incredible talent with our residents and tenants today at RASLC. The music was truly moving and beautiful, and it brought so much joy to everyone!

Here they are performing “Hallelujah” By Leonard Cohen.
💡 Fun music fact: Hallelujah wasn’t a hit when it first came out! Cohen wrote the song in the 1980s, but it didn’t gain popularity until years later through powerful covers by artists like Jeff Buckley …and yes, even its famous moment in the film Shrek (Rufus Wainwright)! ☺️

With its mix of heartbreak, hope, and Biblical meaning, Hallelujah has become one of the most covered songs in pop culture history.❤️

❄️Activity Highlight❄️
Creativity is always in style! Last week our residents and tenants put their artistic talents to work creating sparkling snowflake ornaments to celebrate the Winter Olympics with the help of our wonderful Life Enrichment Coordinator, LaVonne. ❄️ With glue, glitter and plenty of imagination, everyone helped design and decorate unique snowflakes that now add a festive touch to our trees. (Just in time for all of this snowfall and cold🥶)

A wonderful reminder that a little creativity and a lot of team work makes every season brighter! ⛷️✨
