We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend, Dorothy Riley (pictured at center in pink, surrounded by her family). At 102, Dorothy took great pride in being the oldest current resident of Arthurdale and was also married to the son of an original Arthurdale homesteader. She found joy in life’s simple blessings; tending to her garden, crocheting, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking for those she loved.

The family has asked, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s honor to the Arthurdale Heritage, PO Box 850, Arthurdale, WV 26520.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Morgan Funeral Home, 13411 Veterans Memorial Highway, Reedsville, WV, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service, officiated by Reverend David Kisamore. Interment will follow at Arthurdale Cemetery.
