When you go through prostate cancer treatment—whether it’s surgery, radiation, or androgen deprivation therapy (ADT)—your body changes. Even after you’re “cured,” you’re never quite the same. Cancer itself and the treatments can leave side effects: reduced testosterone, thinner er****ons, lower energy, or changes in muscle mass.
That doesn’t mean the story ends. Think of it like the Marvel universe: once upon a time, you might’ve been the Incredible Hulk—strong, powerful, bigger in every way. After treatment, you may feel more like Bruce Banner, smaller and less imposing. But with effort and recovery strategies, you can become something in-between—Doc Samson. He wasn’t Hulk-level, but he was still powerful, stronger than most, and carried himself with pride.
Medically, here’s how men can work toward that “Doc Samson” stage:
Testosterone recovery: Levels can return slowly after ADT; regular bloodwork helps track it.
Pelvic floor exercises (Kegels): Strengthen blood flow and erectile support.
Medications: PDE5 inhibitors (like Vi**ra or Cialis) can aid erectile function.
Vacuum er****on devices & pumps: Keep pe**le tissue oxygenated, preventing long-term shrinkage.
Supplements & lifestyle: L-citrulline, L-arginine, beet juice, exercise, and a heart-healthy diet improve circulation.
S*x therapy / couples support: Helps rebuild confidence and intimacy, which is just as important as physical recovery.
You may not return to “Hulk mode,” but you can absolutely rebuild strength, size, and confidence enough to stand proudly as Doc Samson—a survivor, still powerful, still a hero.
