There is a strong connection between metabolic health and Alzheimer’s. In fact, dementia is sometimes called insulin resistance of the brain or type 3 diabetes.

One nutrient that has been shown to offer protection is DHA from fish oil.

Repost from

Omega-3 DHA has been found to reduce Alzheimer's risk by 49%. As we know, lowering neuroinflammation in the brain plays a key role in fighting the development of Alzheimer’s disease. Obtaining this from your diet with wild-caught, low-mercury seafood is even better.

Amen to this!

Repost from

It is not easy, but the idea is simple. We all have the potential to cause harm, but the more we heal our own wounds, the less likely we will be to cause intentional or unintentional harm. If we can show up for each other in a way where compassion is our medium of engagement then we will be more likely to remedy the hurt that needs tending.

The saying, 'hurt people hurt people' could not be more true. People often hand their tension over to others without being aware that someone else had done the same to them. People continue passing the tension from one person to another until it lands in the hands of someone who is either unwilling to accept it or does accept it but then learns how to process it and let it go. The more people who are open to inner work and have techniques that help them let go/heal, the more points there will be in the giant web of humanity where harm will not be able to spread.

Peace is not passive, it is mental clarity and compassion in action. Your healing not only benefits you and everyone you encounter, but it helps you make better and more humane decisions in a rapidly changing world.

Personal healing is important, but collective healing is also critical. Human beings do not live in a vacuum, our interconnectedness is what gives us the opportunity to thrive. It definitely helps the world when we heal ourselves, but we should also find ways to do our part to support movements for a better and more just world. When people move together around a common cause, history changes.

It is easy to recreate the harm that has happened to us if we never take the time to process it in a healthy way. This is why your healing is a gift to the people who will cross your path in the future.

The same way it is to your personal benefit to not harm others, it is also to your personal benefit for others to be safe from harm and have their material needs met. When more people can truly flourish, the shared happiness of humanity will also increase.

It’s easy to develop self love and be the best version of yourself when you’re alone in meditation or walking on the beach.

The real work happens in relationship to others… our kids, partners, parents, and other people who can trigger us or mirror aspects of ourselves that we still need to work on.

Repost from

I often say this to the woo-woo types who think you can just go love yourself.

Remember, if you understand attachment science and developmental psychology, you will see that a child doesn't just love themselves.

It's a dance between caregiver and child where the child is constantly reflected back who they are.

Parents who can handle their kids emotions send kids the message that their experience is okay and valid. Those kids grow up trusting their experience b/c it was reflected back to them.

Parents who shut down their kids emotional expression train kids to distrust their experience. Those kids struggle relationally as adults.

Self-love is a collaborative process. Surround yourself with people who will reflect back your essence over and over and you'll develop more self-love.
