Please join us in celebrating Sydney Hladilek, Annie Penn Hospital’s newest DAISY Award recipient! 🩵

The DAISY Award honors extraordinary nurses who go above and beyond their standard responsibilities to ensure the comfort, safety, and happiness of patients and their families. This term, Annie Penn received an incredible 35 nominations, which speaks volumes about the compassion and dedication of our nursing teams.

Sydney’s nomination stood out in the most heartfelt way. Her patient shared a powerful story of how Sydney transformed one of their most vulnerable moments into an experience filled with peace, comfort, and unwavering humanity. From her calm presence in the ER to the way she cared not only for the patient but for their entire family, Sydney embodied everything extraordinary nursing represents.

Here is a portion of the nomination that captured our hearts:

“She didn’t just treat me as a patient — she saw me as a person. Her compassion, professionalism, and humanity were a light in one of the darkest moments of my life. She made me feel protected, valued, and never alone. Sydney’s presence was healing in every sense. She didn’t just care for me… she cared about me.”

The nomination even included a beautiful original poem honoring Sydney’s light and impact, closing with this line:

“So, here's to Sydney, fierce and kind… She is the light, and love, and name.”

The holiday season can be especially tough when you’re grieving the loss of a loved one. While the world celebrates “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” many of us are left wondering how to find peace and meaning through the pain. 💔

Join us for “Surviving Grief at the Holidays,” a free 90-minute seminar offering support, understanding, and practical tools to help you navigate this season. You’ll gain helpful insights about grief, learn coping strategies, and connect with others who understand what you’re going through. Together, we can find hope and healing this holiday season. 💚
