Progress is progress is progress.
Comparing your experience to someone else's robs you of finding joy in your journey.
You are right where you need to be, and you are right on time.

“One step at a time” sounds simple, but when you’re overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted, even one step feels like a lot.

If that’s where you are today, that's okay! You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need a plan laid out before you. You just need the next small step.

Maybe that step is getting out of bed, sending the email, making the call, or taking a few steady breaths. Maybe it’s choosing to be a little kinder to yourself.

Progress doesn’t happen all at once. Even the smallest steps count more than you think.

Give yourself permission to move at your own pace. You are not behind: you are human.

One step is enough for today.

Self-care is more than bubble baths and “treat yourself” moments.

More importantly, self-care is setting boundaries, getting enough rest, asking for help, and making choices that support your long-term well-being.

It’s not avoiding your problems or pushing yourself to burnout in the name of productivity.

Real self-care is intentional, sustainable, and sometimes uncomfortable, but it helps you show up as your healthiest and most balanced self.

If you're ready to start making some lasting, positive changes in your life, but aren't sure where to start, give us a call--we're here for you. (336) 427-9022

Spring break is here for Rockingham County Schools!

Cue the, “I’ll just rest my eyes” moments that turn into 3-hour naps, and the realization that you might be a little more tired than you thought.

If your break feels less like a vacation and more like a full system reboot… you’re not doing it wrong. Teaching is heart work, and it takes a toll. Even a week off isn’t always enough to reset the stress, the overwhelm, and the constant giving.

The good news? You don’t have to wait until summer (or your breaking point) to feel better.

Therapy can help you actually recharge, not just survive until the next break. Think: boundaries that stick, stress that feels manageable, and energy that lasts longer than a long weekend.

We’re here for our local teachers who deserve support.
Take care of you, too.

Grief doesn’t only come from losing a person. 🤍
Grief isn’t always obvious.
Sometimes it looks like exhaustion.
Sometimes it’s irritability, numbness, or feeling stuck.
Sometimes it’s missing a version of your life—or yourself—that no longer exists.

Whatever form it takes, your grief is valid.

Therapy can be a space to:
• Make sense of complicated emotions
• Honor what you’ve lost without minimizing it
• Move at your own pace, without pressure to “be okay”
• Find steadiness again, even if life feels unfamiliar

You don’t have to justify your grief.
You don’t have to rush through it.
And you don’t have to carry it alone.

There is space for you here.
Reach out to us today. (336) 427-9022/ mcole@ancoracc.org
