Chandra Zas Embody your values, heal generational patterns. Mood Before Food & Functional Embodiment. For the kids. Book: Handbook for Human Potential.

I help parents embody their values—love, health, kindness, respect, presence, sovereignty, clear boundaries—so their kids inherit presence, not patterns. Whether you're struggling with emotional eating, yelling at your kids, or repeating patterns you swore you'd never pass down—I offer two paths to healing generational patterns:

Mood Before Food: Heal emotional eating through food psychology
Functional Embodiment: Regulate your nervous system through somatic healing

“Can your body trust you?”

That question resonated with me when Nikia shared it in our live interview. She was a professional athlete — pushing, grinding, wondering why her body kept failing her. And her mentor flipped the whole thing around.

Learning to listen to the body isn’t just a wellness concept. It’s a relationship. And like any relationship, it goes both ways.

Dr. Nikia Evans is a physician, movement physiologist, and human performance coach who has worked with over 500 elite athletes. She introduced me to Function Health for comprehensive lab testing and Heart & Soil for ancestral nutrition — two tools I now use in my own life. I trust her deeply, and this clip is a small window into why.

This is the heart of what she teaches — and it’s exactly what we went into in our live interview. Watch the full clip and share it with someone who needs to hear this. 🎙️

Movement as medicine — today at 2pm PT, Dr. Nikia Evans joins me LIVE on YouTube.

This is not a conversation about workout plans.

This is about minimum effective dose — what it means to move in a way that restores your body instead of depleting it. Hormone health, cortisol, recovery, walking, fascia, nervous system. The whole picture.

Nikia is in residency and is making time to be with us today. Please come with your questions — we’ll answer them live.

There was a time in my life when I learned it wasn’t safe to be open.

At 16, after being sexually harassed by my boss, the message I internalized wasn’t protection.

It was:
Don’t cause trouble.

So I changed myself.

I put on weight.
I wore baggy clothes.
I closed my energy.
I stopped being bright and bubbly.

Because being attractive felt dangerous.
Being seen felt unsafe.

So much of women’s relationship with their bodies is shaped by experiences like this.

Sometimes weight isn’t about food.
It’s about safety.

Healing for me meant reclaiming my body as mine.
Reopening my energy.
Making it safe to be here again.

And now I parent differently.

My daughter doesn’t have to hug anyone.
She doesn’t have to override her body’s no.
She is learning to trust her cues.

That’s how we break cycles.
That’s how we change legacy.

If you're stuck in the push-harder loop and wondering why your body isn't responding the way it used to — come join us.

Dr. Nikia Evans and I are going live Tuesday, March 10 at 2pm PT to talk minimum effective dose: how to build sustainable health by finding the intrinsic rhythm that restores, not depletes. What parent reframes have helped you most?

02/27/2026

One of the most common compliments I get is about my parenting.

And honestly?

Janet Lansbury changed everything for me.

She says:
“Kids aren’t giving us a hard time. They’re having a hard time.”

That one reframe…

It shifted how I show up with my daughter.
And it shifted how I show up with myself.

Because what if your angry inner voice…
Your cravings…
Your shutdown…
Your irritation…

Isn’t you being “bad.”

It’s you having a hard time.

That’s where shame starts to loosen.
That’s where regulation begins.
That’s where healing lives.

This is just a 1-minute clip from my Chapter 0 interview in Handbook for Human Potential with 🙏

Shame does not create change.

It creates more self-soothing.

We fall into the trap of judgment thinking that’s how we’ll stop the behavior.

But when we judge ourselves, we feel worse.
And when we feel worse, we reach for more soothing.

So what if instead we normalize it?

“I’m noticing I need self-soothing right now.”

That’s a very different starting point.

Then ask:
What are my options?

Most people haven’t even made a list.

Candy.
Sweet potatoes.
Tea.
A walk.
A snuggle.
Breathing.
Music.
A bath.

And then the most powerful question:

How do I want to feel in two hours?

That shifts everything from shame…
to intention.

What if the next level of your growth isn’t more strategy… but deeper listening?

Chapter 0 of Handbook for Human Potential is called “Come Home to Your Body Wisdom.”

In this clip, Stay or Go Coaching Britta Jo interviews me about the real story behind that chapter — the years of overriding my body, the burnout, and the moment I realized I had to reconnect instead of control.

Your body is not the obstacle.
It’s the guide.
