We’re excited to congratulate our primary care physician, Dr. Wright, on earning her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). This prestigious credential requires three years of intensive study, training, and testing to achieve.

We’re also proud to share that she is one of only two MDs in the entire Northern Nevada region to hold this designation. Congratulations, Dr. Wright! We’re incredibly grateful for your continued dedication to expanding your skills and knowledge to better serve our community.

This Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we’re setting the facts straight. The many myths surrounding eating disorders can keep those struggling stuck in silence.

Let’s be clear:
They are not a choice.
Not about vanity.
Not always visible.
Not limited to one age, gender, or body type.
And never a reflection of someone’s willpower.

When we challenge the myths, we can reduce stigma. And when we reduce stigma, more people can feel safe asking for the support they deserve.

The truth? Eating disorders are serious, complex, and treatable, and recovery IS possible.

This Eating Disorders Awareness Month, we’re talking about something many people are curious about, but few truly understand: intuitive eating. If the constant noise of diet culture has made your relationship with food feel complicated, it might be time to explore a more compassionate approach.

At Thrive, intuitive eating is a cornerstone of our recovery approach. It’s an evidence-based, non-diet framework that helps you move away from restriction, guilt, and fear and toward trust, balance, and lasting healing.

To make this topic more approachable, we asked our team of eating disorder experts to answer the real questions we hear every day from clients and families. To hear more from our experts and learn more about intuitive eating, check out our latest blog post!

Did you know that Thrive’s Greenhouse was designed by Nevada’s first African American architect?

This Black History Month, we’re honoring trailblazing architect Paul Revere Williams, whose legacy can still be seen throughout Reno and beyond.

Williams, one of the most influential Black architects of the 20th century, designed the building that will soon house our residential treatment center in Reno. His work continues to stand as a symbol of resilience, innovation, and excellence.

As we prepare to open our doors, we’re proud to carry forward his legacy by creating a space rooted in healing, inclusion, and compassionate care.
