When many people think of PTSD, they picture veterans returning from combat. While military service is one way PTSD can develop, it’s not the only one. Nurses, first responders, police officers, and countless others face intense, life-altering events in their line of work that can lead to PTSD.

But it’s not just about professional exposure. Everyday people can experience PTSD from traumatic events like car accidents, natural disasters, abusive relationships, or other traumatic events. Trauma doesn’t discriminate. It affects anyone who has endured overwhelming situations.
