Renown Children's Miracle Network In 1985 Renown Children's Hospital became a member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network. It has the region's only Children's ER and Pediatric ICU.

We are the only not for profit children’s hospital in northern Nevada. Funds raised by CMN business partners and programs stay local and support local children. Renown Children's Hospital is the only children's hospital in northern Nevada and offers a variety of programs and services designed specifically to care for families in our community. Renown Children's Hospital is also the only hospital affiliated with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) in the region and local CMN Hospitals' programs and events directly benefit children in northern Nevada.

💜 The Impact of your CMN Donations: The Power of Medical Play 💜

March is Child Life Month, and today we are celebrating the incredible impact of medical play at Renown Children's Hospital

When a 6-year-old patient needed a nasogastric tube and a peripheral IV, one of the Renown Health, Certified Child Life Specialists created a stuffed animal with the same medical materials to help him learn and prepare in a way that felt safe and empowering.

He explored the tubes, practiced the procedures, and gained confidence before and during treatment. Afterward, he even took the doll home and continued to “play doctor” for days.

Medical play turns fear into understanding. It gives kids control in moments that can feel overwhelming. And thanks to Children's Miracle Network donors, this kind of preparation and support happens every single day.

To our Child Life team, thank you for helping our patients feel brave, prepared, and supported. We are so grateful for you this Child Life Month and always. 💜

Help us in celebrating a record-breaking year for Spirit of Children and our friends at Spirit Halloween!

This past October, their incredible fundraising efforts raised $76,892 for the Child Life program at Renown Children's Hospital, an 83% year-over-year increase from 2024.

And during Child Life Month, it feels especially meaningful to celebrate what that impact makes possible. Stay tuned to learn more about our CCLS program and why this community donation is so impactful!

March is Child Life Month, and we are kicking it off by celebrating the incredible Child Life team at Renown Children's Hospital 💜

Because of generous Children's Miracle Network donors and our dedicated staff, this amazing team has grown from just 3 members to 9 over the past few years. That growth means more play, more preparation, more comfort, and more support for kids and families during some of their hardest days.

Our Child Life specialists, assistants, and interns turn fear into courage, hospital rooms into play spaces, and tough moments into brighter ones.

🎉 Meet the second 2026 Children's Miracle Network Miracle Kid, Lane! 💛

Lane, the second Miracle Kid, is excited to represent Renown Children's Hospital at CMN programs and events throughout the next year!

His story:
"Lane was born seven weeks early. At eight months old, he was diagnosed with infant B-cell ALL leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer. He spent many days in the hospital receiving treatment and stayed brave through it all. In 2025, Lane rang the cancer-free bell on his third birthday. Now fully in his toddler years, Lane loves bouncing at the trampoline park, racing toy cars, singing along to “Old McDonald,” and snacking on chocolate and Kit Kats."

We are so proud to have Lane as the second Miracle Kid of 2026—his bravery, joy, and spirit are sure to inspire us all! 💫
