I’m grateful for the roof over my head, the food on my table, clean water, loved ones and time with people in my life! Got side tracked over the holiday because I was enjoying life! Day 23 of Gratitude

I’m grateful for great customer service, especially since I’m in the service business! Like this girl Tiffany Chilson who works at Med Spa Tahoe Facial Plastics who works with Dr. Bradford, who knows skincare, provides awesome customer service and is just an amazing person. The whole office is awesome!! She is honest and helps me keep my skin fresh!! Great service can be hard to come by these days so I definitely support those who are good to me and SO appreciate my clients who support me!!

“Top 10 vitamins” lists, because DNA repair, cell renewal, and bone marrow function are pathway-driven, not single-nutrient driven. That said, there is a clear order of foundational importance.

I’ll list them in functional priority, not popularity, and explain why each matters. We don’t get everything we need from food. Juat track your macros and you will see how deficient you are.



1. Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) Make sure it’s methylated

Non-negotiable for life

Why it’s #1
B12 is essential for DNA synthesis, cell division, and bone marrow function. Without it, cells literally cannot replicate properly.

Key roles
• DNA synthesis and repair
• Red blood cell formation in bone marrow
• Myelin maintenance and neurological integrity
• Prevention of chromosomal damage
• Recycling folate (without B12, folate becomes trapped and unusable)

Deficiency consequences
• Megaloblastic anemia
• Bone marrow failure
• Neuropathy, cognitive decline
• DNA damage and mutation accumulation

No B12 = no proper cell renewal.



2. Folate (Vitamin B9)

Blueprint vitamin

Why it’s #2
Folate provides the raw methyl groups needed to build DNA. Without folate, DNA strands are incomplete or faulty.

Key roles
• DNA base synthesis (purines & thymidylate)
• Cell division and tissue regeneration
• Bone marrow output
• Epigenetic programming
• Neural tube development

Important nuance
Folate cannot function without B12. Plenty of folate with low B12 worsens damage.



3. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5-phosphate / PLP)

Traffic controller

Why it’s #3
B6 regulates upstream and downstream flow of the methylation cycle and prevents toxic bottlenecks.

Key roles
• Homocysteine clearance
• Neurotransmitter synthesis
• Immune signalling
• Amino acid metabolism
• Supports DNA repair indirectly via redox balance

Without B6, B12 and folate can be present but misfire.



4. Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)

Enzyme activator

Why it’s #4
B2 activates MTHFR and multiple redox enzymes required for DNA repair.

Key roles
• MTHFR function
• FAD/FMN cofactor for DNA repair enzymes
• Antioxidant regeneration (glutathione)
• Mitochondrial energy for cell replication

Often overlooked, but critical.



5. Niacin (Vitamin B3)

DNA repair fuel

Why it’s #5
DNA repair enzymes (PARPs) consume NAD+. Without niacin, repair stalls.

Key roles
• NAD+/NADH production
• DNA damage repair (PARP enzymes)
• Cellular stress response
• Mitochondrial energy generation

Low B3 = accelerated cellular aging.



6. Vitamin C (ascorbate)

Structural repair vitamin

Why it’s #6
DNA repair is pointless if the tissue framework collapses.

Key roles
• Collagen synthesis (bone marrow scaffolding)
• Epigenetic regulation (TET enzymes)
• Antioxidant protection of DNA
• Iron utilisation in bone marrow

Vitamin C deficiency impairs hematopoiesis.



7. Vitamin A (retinoids)

Cell differentiation controller

Why it’s #7
A tells cells what to become after they divide.

Key roles
• Gene expression regulation
• Stem cell differentiation
• Immune cell maturation
• Epithelial and marrow integrity

Too little or too much both cause problems.



8. Vitamin D (hormone-vitamin)

Genomic regulator

Why it’s #8
Vitamin D interacts with over 1,000 genes.

Key roles
• Regulation of cell growth and apoptosis
• Immune surveillance of abnormal cells
• Bone marrow immune output
• Anti-proliferative signalling

Deficiency increases cancer and autoimmune risk.



9. Vitamin K (especially K2)

Cell cycle modulator

Why it’s #9
Supports proper calcium signalling and anti-proliferative pathways.

Key roles
• Cell cycle regulation
• Mitochondrial function
• Vascular and bone integrity
• Synergy with vitamin D



10. Vitamin E

Membrane protector

Why it’s #10
Protects cell membranes during rapid division.

Key roles
• Lipid membrane stability
• Protection from oxidative damage
• Supports immune cell longevity



The critical takeaway (this matters):

DNA repair, bone marrow function, and cellular renewal do not depend on one vitamin.
They depend on a hierarchy and flow.

If B12 is low → folate cannot work
If B6 is low → homocysteine damages DNA
If B2 is low → MTHFR slows
If B3 is low → DNA repair enzymes stall
If vitamin C is low → structure collapses

This is why people can have “normal” labs and still be biologically depleted.

Importance of Macronutrients
Macronutrients play several critical roles in your health:
Energy Supply
🏃🏻‍➡️🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️Carbohydrates provide quick energy for daily activities and exercise.
🥑Fats serve as a long-term energy reserve.
🥩Proteins help maintain energy levels by supporting muscle health.
Body Function
Proteins are vital for tissue repair and muscle growth.
Fats support cell function and protect organs.
Carbohydrates are crucial for brain function and overall metabolic processes.
Weight Management
Balancing macros can help control hunger and cravings, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight.
Understanding your macro intake can assist in achieving specific fitness goals, such as weight loss or muscle gain.

A good balance for healthy body is 40% protein, 30% carbs and 30% fat. Unless you have your genetic makeup of what you should be eating you can go by that for best results. Macros matter because your body will not look for feel the same on 1500 calories of cookies, coffee and cocktails vs meat, veggies, fruits and healthy fats.

Day 20 of Gratitude

I’m grateful for this guy, who made me a first time mom, and now grandma, and taught me more about the real world than I would have ever learned on my own or could have taught him. Also, grateful that he brought these girls into our lives. It’s funny to see everybody posting their perfect lives. Our’s wasn’t perfect by any means, it’s what gave me all my gray hairs! Ha But we became stronger through our experiences and I’m grateful to God that we all came out alive on the other side. It could have gone either way. This boy is such a talented, kind, and amazing human being! He has a heart of gold and makes the world a better place with his kindness when it’s filled with chaos and horrible people!!

I’m so grateful to be where we are today with kids who want to be a part of our lives. Love you Cody, and so proud of the man and father that you have become!!

Day 19 of Gratitude

I’m grateful for this girl making me a mom a second time on this day 28 years ago! She made me crazy the first 12 years of life, but grew into an amazing young lady!! So proud of who you have become. Thank you for a fabulous day at the spa, as well as dinner and gambling which paid for the day!! Yay!! 😂

So grateful that my adult children still choose to hang out with us!! Love empty nesting with date nights with my adult children!!
