The Hearing Distressing Voices Lab created by psychologist Patricia Deegan is a simulation activity that allows the participant to experience auditory hallucinations while attempting to complete basic to more focus driven tasks.

The activity builds empathy and advocacy while acknowledging the challenges and strengths of individuals who live with symptoms of schizophrenia.

This last week, our team had the privileged to instruct 40 nurse graduates! Each very curious about how to apply what they learned moving forward forward.

Mental health can mean so many things to different people. For us, it's getting out into our community; it's listening; it's learning. Recently, a few staff members had the honor of attending the NAMI Northern Nevada 'Frame of Mind' dinner.

Attending, we were able to represent Northern Nevada Specialty Hospital, An Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, which offers adult & geriatric behavioral health.
