Thank you for the continued support for Ezti as she continues to battle the unknown.

Ezti had another set of chest X-rays this week and the radiologist found fluid on the right side of her chest. This is making breathing a bit harder and her energy level quite a bit lower.

As if this was not enough, the pressure in her spinal fluid has not yet normalized and she is having symptoms of a sinus infection. Consequently, her oncologist sent her to the ER for another brain CT scan on 12/23 to ensure they were not missing anything in her skull that could explain the cranial hypertension and sinus symptoms. Her brain scan was clear thank goodness, but she is battling sinusitis and an infection in her throat requiring antibiotics.

After Christmas she will meet with her doctor team again to decide next steps in her treatment plan. She has to schedule an appointment with nuclear medicine to discuss next treatment options.

Thank you again to everyone who has donated or shown support to Ezti in any way. She appreciates each and every one of you!

This Friday Ezti met with an oncologist at Stanford and discussed the next steps for her treatment. Her doctors are concerned that the cancer that was found in her CSF (spinal fluid) is what is causing the pressure to be so high inside of her spinal column and consequently is what is affecting her vision. Unfortunately, her vision is not improving and her ocular pressures are worsening with time. As a result, Ezti is likely going to have to have a ventricular shunt placed to help lower the pressure in her spinal column and hopefully help her vision. This will likely take place at Stanford within the next month.

Travel to Stanford and undergoing major surgery is going to be very expensive, so any help you can provide would be so so appreciated!

This sweet boy is Jackson. He’s a 7 month old bernedoodle that came to us with a Christmas surprise in his belly! 🎁 He ate his parent’s Christmas ornament hook bag with the hooks still inside! 🎄Dr. Whalen and Dr. Furman where able to get the whole thing out (plus an un-expected piece of fabric) with our endoscope! We are so happy Jackson didn’t need exploratory surgery and that the bag of hooks made it out with no issues!!!🫶🏼💛

Here is an update on our amazing employee, Ezti!

First, I wanted to thank everyone who has donated to Ezti’s fund. The support has been amazing and she is so incredibly grateful.

Ezti is feeling about the same this week as she was last week. Her energy level is very low and her vision is still abnormal (she continues to see double).

Today she started a new chemotherapy/immunotherapy drug called Datroway. The hope is that this new medication will allow her immune system to fight the new cancer cells. The biggest side effects she is going to face with this treatment are vision changes and sores in her mouth. She had several frozen mouth guards made this morning that she will bring with her to each appointment and hold in her mouth the entire 90 minutes of the infusion to try and prevent the mouth sores.

Her next adventure will be to travel to Stanford next week to see an oncology specialist to discuss other options to help fight her cancer.

She will continue to need all of the support she can get as travel is going to be very expensive on top of her existing medical bills.
