This week, my journey advocating for responsible, non-opioid pain management brought me to Chico, California, where I had the opportunity to present to a dedicated group of healthcare providers on acute and postoperative pain management with a focus on non-opioid options, specifically Journavx.
Each community conversation matters.
We are all connected in some way. It was interesting to realize that my driver from Reno to Chico used to work as a medical assistant for an orthopedic practice a few years ago, she referred many patients to me for treatment.
You never know how your work continues to ripple through communities.
Moments like that are powerful reminders that medicine is not just about procedures, prescriptions, or presentations. It is about relationships, trust, and long-term impact.
As we continue addressing the opioid crisis, these educational discussions with surgeons and healthcare providers are essential. Expanding awareness of evidence-based, non-opioid alternatives helps protect patients during vulnerable postoperative periods and support safer recovery pathways.
Chico was another meaningful step in this mission:
• Educate
• Collaborate
• Advocate
• Provide safer alternatives
• Strengthen community care
Grateful for the warm welcome and for the providers committed to evolving pain management in the right direction.
The work continues ,community by community.
Thank you Chico Community
