A phase 2B randomised trial of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for ulcerative colitis.

Both phase 1 and 2 of these trials show amazing potential for UC sufferers.

We have treated UC patients but before their symptoms became this bad. We have had amazing results as well.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is approved to treat patients with Osteoradionecrosis. This is covered by all insurance including Medicare and Medicaid.

Any radiation that is done to the mouth, head, and neck could make for a serious complication in your mouth. Before getting teeth extractions you should be treated with HBOT 30 treatments before any extractions are done and 10 after.

Crohn's Disease patients with Fistulas.

HBOT closed patient's fistulas and patients maintained this closure after finishing 40 treatments of HBOT 100% O2 at 2.4/90min.

The clinical and radiologic improvement of perianal fistula in Crohn's disease, that was found at week 16 after treatment with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, is maintained at 1-year follow-up.

What makes us different than other places offering Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Very common question asked.

1.) We are the only clinic in Northern Nevada that will treat emergencies. We operate 5 Sechrist Chambers.

2.) We are a Medical Facility NOT a wellness clinic.

3.) We take all major insurance and Medicare and Medicaid. We are governed by the state.

4.) You will have Certified Hyperbaric Techs (actual certification) doing your treatment.

5.) We do 100% O2 not an oxygen concentrator. Real 100% liquid oxygen that turns into a gas. 100% oxygen is a drug and requires you to have a prescription.

6.) Doing a little investigating around our area we have found wellness clinics doing “hyperbaric oxygen therapy” with a O2 concentrator, no HBOT certs, no Hyperbaric Safety Directors (certification). We currently have 2 certified Hyperbaric Safety Directors on staff.

7.) The crazy part price. The wellness clinics are the same price as we offer cash patients. We also do packages. So, complete transparency our cash treatment cost for 60min is 300 for 120 it is 350. If you buy a package of 10, we drop the price to 200 for 60min and 250 for 120min. There is also a one-time consult fee that goes directly to the doctor of 250. This is a full history and physical to make sure you can safely go into the chamber.

8.) Our Hyperbaric Medical Director is Dr. Peter Hanson.

Hyperbaric chambers are pressure vessels and should be carefully operated by trained certified staff. Chambers must be maintenance yearly. I could go on and on.

Safety is our number one priority at Northern Nevada Hyperbarics Inc. There are reasons why we ask patients to do certain things. Sometimes that has left a bad taste with patients, and we have lost patients due to our policies.

I am not just talking about the safety of the patients but also the safety of my employees, the building we are in (hospital campus), to others around the office.

Hyperbaric Chambers are a PRESSURE VESSEL - Does not matter if you are compressing with Air or Liquid O2.

ASME PVHO-1-2023 Safety Standard for Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy - ALL Clinics, Med Spas, anyone using a chamber should understand these standards.

I have recently had a patient ask what makes your clinic better that another one. SAFETY. We are certified in safety we have multiple Safety Officers we understand GAS LAWS.

Late Effects of Radiation treated with HBOT

Despite modern radiotherapy (RT) techniques, radiation-induced proctitis (RIP) remains a significant complication of RT for pelvic organ malignancies.

HBOT proved to be an effective and safe treatment for RIP refractory to medical and/or endoscopic treatments. This real-world evidence study adds value to published data on the management of RIP with HBOT.

With summer quickly approaching in the Tahoe area, here are some quick safety tips and reminders for diving Lake Tahoe.

Remember to think about your plan. If you are driving remember you will need to go over one of the passes if you are driving, also factor in if you will be flying out of Reno/Tahoe.

Use DAN Divers Alert Network - We are in their system of clinics in Northern Nevada you can get treated for DCS. Before starting to dive make sure you have the correct insurance. ** Just in case.

We will be making a effort this year in talking to all the dive shops in Lake Tahoe just to make sure they will also know that we are open 24/7 to Dive Emergencies.

Lets talk about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Radiation.

Late effects of radiation is a covered condition for all insurances.

A lot of our patients are Late Effects of Radiation patients we are currently seeing a big jump in late effects of radiation cases.

The most common cases we see are going to be:

Head/Neck - Osteo of the jaw, pulled teeth after radiation that just won't heal, soft tissue necrosis, flaps that won't heal.

Pelvic Region - Soft tissue necrosis, cystitis (bladder problems control, bleeding, pain), proctitis (re**al problems control, bleeding, pain)

The great thing is the response rate of healing. 81% to 83% for bone and bladder healing. 50% with soft tissue necrosis/mucous membrane improved with HBOT. With a low relapse rate of 22%.

This is the reason we warn patients about doing HBOT/MBOT at non-medical facilities. This explosion happened in May, and we are just hearing about it. We understand it is better financially to buy or go to a spa where they are advertising HBOT/MBOT at low pressure for 50-75 dollars a treatment. But sadly, this is the risk. This could have been much worse the 2 occupants could have died. This is why safety is so important with HBOT, you need to know what you're dealing with high pressure and oxygen.

"Businesses on either side of Revive Infrared Spa in Lehi thought a car had crashed into their building on the May afternoon when a loud explosion shook their walls.

Instead, a hard-sided hyperbaric oxygen chamber had exploded — with two people inside, according to a report from Lehi Fire Department. A glass window on the chamber burst, sending hand-sized shards of glass into the air and driving some into the ceiling.

The explosion caused “serious injuries” to the people inside the chamber, according to the report; one was unconscious when first responders arrived and had to be taken to a hospital. Revive owner Shane Smith was knocked to the ground."
