Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can have long-term health impacts if left untreated, including infertility, chronic pain, and increased risk for other infections. Teens may not always show symptoms, which makes regular screenings and safe sexual practices essential.

Open communication with trusted adults and healthcare providers helps teens make informed decisions about their sexual health.

Teens can have time with Dr. Frazee to have confidential discussion regarding sexual health, mental health or other sensitive concerns.

Toddlers develop speech at different rates, but some signs may indicate the need for evaluation.

By around 2 years old, children should be combining words into simple 2-word sentences, and by 3 years old, about 90% of what they say should be understandable to a stranger. Watch for limited vocabulary, not using gestures or sounds to communicate, or losing previously acquired words. Early identification and intervention can make a big difference in language development.

Our office can evaluate your child’s speech and provide an appropriate referral to a speech therapist or early intervention if needed.

Dr. Frazee recommends reading to your toddler for 15 minutes per day to help boost vocabulary. Since toddlers have short attention spans, you can split this time into shorter reading sessions throughout the day.

Before your child heads out for trick-or-treating, keep these tips in mind:

1) Bright & visible: Choose costumes with reflective tape or give them a glow stick or flashlight.

2) Proper fit: Avoid long hems or oversized shoes that could cause tripping.

3) Comfortable mask: If a mask is part of the costume, make sure it doesn’t block vision or breathing.

4) Weather-ready: Dress in layers if it’s chilly outside.

What costume is your child wearing this year? Tell us below!

When it comes to ADHD, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Finding the right medication can take time, and factors like side effects, daily schedule, and insurance coverage all play a role. For many children, medications are started because they can improve focus and impulse control more quickly than non-medication strategies alone, allowing school and home life to feel more manageable while behavioral supports are put in place.

Dr. Frazee help you weigh the options, whether it’s stimulants, non-stimulants, or non-medication strategies, and guide you through insurance requirements for prior authorizations or refills.

If your child has ADHD and you’re considering treatment changes, schedule an appointment so we can make a plan together.

Bullying doesn’t always look like playground shoving.

It can be whispered rumors, hurtful texts, or a child suddenly being excluded. The signs aren’t always obvious, but the effects can run deep. Start by keeping communication open at home. Let your child know they can tell you anything without fear of getting in trouble. Model kindness in your own interactions, and talk about how to handle conflict respectfully. Remind them that they have the right to feel safe and valued - at school, online, and everywhere in between.

If you suspect your child is being bullied, we can help, whether it’s screening for emotional health, providing resources, or guiding you on next steps with the school.

Emotional health screenings are a routine part of wellness care, but we can also assess your child’s emotional well being at any point. Call us today if you have concerns.

There are resources in the community available for bullying such as:
