High Desert Therapists is looking for an Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities. Administrative Assistant responsibilities include making appointments for patients, verification and coordination of benefits, obtaining authorizations from insurance companies, and collecting deductibles, co-pays and/or co-insurance. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, be well organized, and be proficient with a computer. Ultimately, a successful Administrative Assistant should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office. Responsibilities:
Answer and direct phone calls
Organize and schedule patient appointments
Conduct benefits checks and obtain prior authorizations with insurance companies
Collect deductibles, co-pays, and/or co-insurance from patients
Competency with computers, email, and the propensity to learn web based systems such as google suite, Facebook Workplace, and electronic medical records systems
Liaise with offsite management to fulfill inquiries and requests related to practice operations
Skills:
Proven experience as an administrative assistant or office admin assistant
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish
High School degree or GED; additional qualification as an Administrative assistant or Secretary will be a plus
