💜 What a day! 💜

Yesterday’s Newton Care Collaborative Special Needs Resource Fair was an absolute success! We had such a wonderful turnout from the community, and the National Automobile Museum made the perfect backdrop — full of fun, color, and amazing decorations.

Thank you to everyone who came out to join us, volunteer, or share resources with local families. It was a day full of smiles, support, and community spirit.

This week, we had the chance to make some memories that went far beyond everyday care. 🎃👻

One of our residents, a young veteran named Logon, who has faced tremendous changes since his time in the military, joined our team for a night out at a local haunted house. With the support of our staff and the use of our transport van, he was able to roll right in with his power chair and experience the excitement alongside all of us.

His determination, positive outlook, and willingness to embrace new adventures inspire us every day. This outing was a reminder that joy, laughter, and community are just as important as therapy and medical care.

We’re grateful for our incredible staff who go the extra mile to make sure every person we serve has the chance to keep writing their own story—and to have fun along the way.

🎀Cutting Edge…According to AI! 🎀✂️

We tried to get AI to make the perfect ribbon-cutting picture… after a few attempts, we realized perfection isn’t AI’s strong suit. So we gave up and decided you’ll just have to come see it in person!🤩

The real ribbon cutting is tomorrow at 4:00 PM at NeuroRestorative, 3980 Lake Placid Drive. Snacks, beverages, and actual humans included.

Come see the playground in person—reality is way more fun than any algorithm could dream up!

At NeuroRestorative Reno, we’re lucky to share daily moments of laughter, camaraderie, and connection with the incredible men and women who served. From bingo to stories and smiles, it’s these small but meaningful moments that make a big difference.

In May 2024, a 28-year-old named Hugo suffered a devastating fall from a roof, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury and depressed skull fractures. The next 5 months would be an emotional roller coaster for him and his family. Time spent mostly unconscious filled with consults, surgeries, setbacks, some progress but than sent back to the acute setting, the odds were stacked against him — many believed he wouldn’t ever be able to leave the hospital.

But Reno came together. From Renown Regional Medical Center, to PAM Specialty Hospital of Reno and finally to us here at NeuroRestorative Reno, Hugo’s journey has been nothing short of phenomenal. Each team, each provider, and this incredible community refused to give up on him.

Today, just over a year since admitting to NeruoRestorative. Hugo isn’t defined by his injury. He’s now able to walk again, speak, eat normally and even when the weather permits he makes his way out to do some fishing. The strength and will of this young man, continuing to work everyday and continues to regain his independence. So much so, that we will soon be making the preparations for him to return home with his family and with a real quality of life.

This is why we do what we do. 💙

With summer break just around the corner, our new playground is rising from the ground, promising a haven for imagination, play, and connection. For Shararah Clark, our Director of Therapy, this new playground represents a dream come true.

More updates on the construction to be posted soon.
