Our community lit up tonight with the premiere of a short film starring three of our fearless residents — first-time movie stars who proved it’s never too late to try something new. With courage, humor, and heart, they stepped into the spotlight and reminded us all that joy has no age limit.
Oscar buzz? We’re just waiting for the Academy to return our call. 😉

Honoring Indigenous Heritage Month at GenCare!

As part of our Stay Sharp wellness focus, we're proudly celebrating Native American Heritage Month with a meaningful tribute led by our Vitality Assistant, Kerry, a proud member of the Tlingit Tribe of Alaska.

She created a beautiful display and educational presentation that invited residents to explore Indigenous traditions, stories, and contributions. This sparked thoughtful conversations and a deepening cultural awareness.

We’re grateful for her leadership and the way she brings purpose, creativity, and connection to our community.

💐Crafting fun with Kerry! 💐

We had such a great time at our recent crafting class, led by the talented Kerry! Participants got creative, making beautiful flower toppers – each one attached to a pen, turning every day writing tools into cheerful, handmade blossoms.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, and a big shout out to Kerry for guiding such a fun and inspiring session!

We took first place! 🌶️

We’re thrilled to share that we took first place in the chili cook off hosted at the Kent Senior Activity Center! Huge shout out to our amazing culinary director, Sam, who skills and passion brought the heat and flavor to the competition. 👏🔥

Thank you to The Kent Senior Activity Center for hosting such a fun and delicious event – we had a blast!

We had the pleasure of hosting the South End Coalition for a wonderful breakfast! The South End Coalition is a collaborative network of local organizations and businesses working together to support an uplift the South End community through share resources, partnerships, and initiatives in the senior living space. 

We also enjoyed an engaging presentation on the use of AI in the workforce – a timely and thought-provoking topic that sparked great conversation about the future of technology and senior living.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped to make the event a success. We are proud to be part of a community that values connection, innovation, and continued learning!

Yesterday‘s bouquet making class led by our talented culinary director Sam, was a blooming success – and today, we’re excited to share even more beautiful moments captured during the event!

From vibrant blooms to lots of laughter, it was a wonderful opportunity for creativity and connection. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it such a memorable experience.

Today, our talented culinary director, Sam, swapped chef’s knives for shears and taught a delightful bouquet making class.

Our residents got hands-on with fresh florals, learning how to arrange their own Stunning bouquets – and left with more than just a centerpiece: smiles, skills, and a little extra joy. 

A big thank you to Sam for sharing her creative flare beyond the plate!

A recent outing to the The Museum of Flight was a soaring success! From marveling at the historic aircraft to diving into aviation history, we had a full day of discovery, inspiration, and meaningful conversation.

At Gencare, we believe learning doesn’t stop with age -  it just gets more exciting! Whether it’s exploring local treasures or enjoying hands-on experiences, our residents are always up for a little adventure and education.
