Throught our French learning journey, we explored the life cycle of a dandelion 🌼
We learned new vocabulary like:
pissenlit (dandelion)
fleur (flower)
graine (seed)
feuille (leaf)
tige (stem)
vent (wind)
We observed each stage, from the yellow flower to the fluffy seed head, and watched how the seeds travel with the wind.

Learning a new language through nature makes it meaningful, hands-on, and fun.
Words come alive when we can see, touch, and experience them.

Celebrating Earth Day (on a rainy day) 🌧️🌎
We got creative, and brought nature to life in our own way…

Painting a big banner filled with flowers, trees, birds, insects, and all the little things we love about the outdoors 🌸🌿🐦🐞
So much joy, imagination, and connection.

A little mystery, French learning, and nature as a guide 🌿🥚

Our egg hunt isn't just about finding eggs... it's about discovering, counting, and thinking together. Each egg holds tiny treasures from nature, inviting children to explore, observe, and make connections.

As they open each one, they count carefully and match their egg to it's place... slowly revealing the secret color order.

And when everything aligns just right... ✨️ the treasure is unlocked ✨️

Moments like these nurture curiosity, early math skills, problem solving, and the joy of learning through play.

If you're a parent, you may have wondered at some point whether learning a second language is really beneficial for young children.

You might have heard things like:
“Won’t it confuse them?”
“Shouldn’t they master their first language first?”
“What if I don’t speak the language myself?”

These are very common questions, and many parents share the same concerns.

Research in child development and language learning shows that many of these beliefs are actually myths. In fact, early exposure to another language can be a wonderful opportunity for children to explore sounds, communication, and culture in a natural and playful way.

I an sharing five common myths about children learning a second language, and what research really says.

From wonder to language 🐦

After observing and listening to birds in their natural habitat,
after building our own bird feeder with care…
we are now learning to name the body parts of birds: le bec, les ailes, les plumes, la queue,... —
through movement, drawing, and playful memory games

Language grows where curiosity lives:
in play, in nature, in meaningful moments 🇫🇷

Making a bird feeder with natural elements

Language grows where curiosity lives:
in play, in nature, in meaningful moments 🇫🇷

🪶 We look for clues in the backyard — plumes, nids, chants,... (feathers, nests, birdsongs,...)
🐦 We wonder together — Que mangent les oiseaux ? (what do birds eat?)
🍊 We describe the steps in French — couper (to cut), évider (to hollow out), percer (to make a small hole), nouer (to tie), remplir (to fill), accrocher (to hang).

If this speaks to your heart, we would love to welcome your family into our nature-inspired French learning community 💛
