This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week. We know everyone loves me, but our volunteers take it a little more seriously than our staff does. In thanks, this week I (and Ashlyn.... ) will have some special snacks and treats for our volunteers to enjoy.

💥 Student Spotlight on Rachel and Madelynne 💥

We have two students who have been spending some time in the clinic with us recently. Rachel H is a student from the Ozarks Technical Community College Physical Therapy Assistant program. She is spending her final 6-week clinical with us. When she is not preparing for her exams, she enjoys coaching volleyball.

Many of you may recognize our other student, Madelynne. She was a former employee who left us to finish her master's degree with Missouri State University's Speech Language Pathology program. We are excited to welcome her back as a clinician to complete her final externship with us. When she is not at the clinic or studying, Madelynne enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter.

Please help us make their time with us as enjoyable as possible!

At Dynamic Strides, the impact of equine therapy goes far beyond the time spent in the saddle. 🐎

While mounted activities in the arena are often what people picture, our horses and barn environment provide countless opportunities for meaningful therapy. After their ride, one of our patients helped carry equipment from their horse back to the tack room - a simple task that supports range of motion, strengthening, executive functioning, motor planning, and environmental scanning.

Every moment in the barn becomes a chance to build skills, confidence, and independence - all while caring for our incredible equine partners. 💙

Meowdy -

It looks like Jiji and I slept the whole day away on Monday! This sunshine and good weather has been keeping us busy chasing bugs and critters outside and we are exhausted! While I am allowed inside, Jiji is still stuck out in the barn, so he's been taking advantage of the equine team's chairs in the barn to catch a little nap. I have been blessed with the cool floor in the clinic.

What have you been doing with these nice days? Are you going bug catching? Or fishing? Or are you playing in your own special way? Let us know! Maybe Jiji and I can try it out!

The Universal Exercise Unit is an incredible tool used in many of our therapy interventions, but one of its most unique benefits is how it acts as an extra set of hands for our therapists.

In this session, a patient is completing gait training with support from the cage to assist with right leg movement and alignment, while the therapist applies functional electrical stimulation to the left leg to support motor planning and control. By combining multiple therapeutic tools at once, our team can create highly targeted, effective treatment sessions, something we take great pride in providing to every patient at Dynamic Strides. 💙

Teamwork makes therapy even stronger! 💙

Co-treatment allows our PT, OT, and Speech teams to work together to support each patient’s success, whether that means improving positioning, building communication skills, or developing motor skills.

By collaborating, our therapists can meet patients where they are and help them reach their long-term goals!

🌱 Big things start with tiny seeds! 🌷

Patients are helping bring our flower garden back by choosing what to grow, planting seeds, and digging in the dirt. Along the way they’re practicing following directions, exploring sensory play, and learning how to care for the garden as it grows throughout the summer.

Creativity with a purpose! 🦋 Our OT team recently led a butterfly art project designed to support fine motor skills, visual motor development, and executive functioning. Activities like this help clients practice following directions while building important everyday skills—all while having fun creating something beautiful!

I think spring has finally sprung. There are flowers getting started, and gardens getting tilled. Horses shedding hair and warm weather staying around more.
