Stay and Play therapy
Founded in 2008 by Robyn Chu, an occupational therapist, and her husband, JD Chu, a physical therapist, Growing Healthy Children Therapy Services, Inc. works with children with many types of disabilities. Our inter-disciplinary team has a unique and effective approach that involves the whole family in the process, and works on assisting those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Genetic Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Communication Disorders, Attention Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, and more.
With two clinic-based locations in Northern California, our Stay and Play therapy approach is ideal for families that want a relaxing getaway, but still remain focused on their therapy. Our program is tailored to meet the specific and complex needs of each individual, and our therapists excel at building on the strengths and interests of each client, while helping to improve areas of need.
Children with SPD specifically often benefit from intensive therapy that uses a sensory integration approach, and we model ours after the STAR Center. Using the βburst model,β and our βstay and playβ approach, families come and stay nearby while their child receives intensive therapy five times a week for 4-6 weeks at our destination therapy center. Only a few clinics in the country offer this type of approach, and our comprehensive support addresses motor coordination, language development, feeding challenges, social skills, and independent living skills. If you would like more information, please contact us so we can tailor a program specifically for you and your family.
