The goal is to raise awareness of the importance of creating a future where people with disabilities experience equal opportunity and face no barriers in all aspects of their lives— whether it be going about their day-to-day lives with adequate accessibility in their communities, joining the workforce, or being able to showcase their abilities and reach their goals without facing barriers. The first day of December celebrates World AIDS Day, a day to heighten our awareness surrounding HIV, show support for people around the world living with HIV, and remember those who have lost their lives to related illnesses. Today is the Great American Smokeout, a day where the American Cancer Society challenges smokers to give up ci******es for 24 hours. Today is World Diabetes Day and this year the theme is access to diabetes care. Diabetes affects nearly 500 million adults worldwide and is one of the fastest growing health issues of this century, so knowing your care options is very important. The fundamental components of diabetes care are:
