synergy_spine We’re proud to be working with@atlanticbrainspine in Reston, Virginia led by Dr Jae Y Lim, as part of the Synergy Disc US IDE clinical study.
The trial is a multi-center, prospective, non-randomized, historically controlled study, and Synergy Spine Solutions is partnered with a number of sites across the country on the study, to demonstrate the Synergy Disc is at least as safe and effective as conventional anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) to treat cervical degenerative disc disease (DDD) in subjects who are symptomatic at only one level from C3 to C7 that are unresponsive to conservative management.

Dr. Jae Y. Lim, M.D. currently serves as one of the principal surgeons at Atlantic Brain and Spine. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and is the Chief of Neurosurgery Trauma at the Reston Hospital Center in Reston, VA..
Prior to his arrival in Northern Virginia, Dr. Lim practiced at Inland Neurosurgery and Spine in Spokane, Washington from 2001 to 2006, and also held the position of Head of Neurovascular Surgery at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, the first nationally certified comprehensive stroke center in the United States.
Following his graduation from Stanford with dual degrees in both economics and biological sciences, Dr. Lim attended Yale Medical School for the purpose of obtaining his medical degree. Dr. Lim then went on to complete a surgical internship, neurosurgery residency, and fellowship all at the UCLA Medical Center, in addition to completing a fellowship in complex spinal surgery at the Cedar-Sinai institute of Spinal Disorder.
Dr. Lim has served as president of the Korean American Spine Society as recently as 2014, and has been an invaluable part of the Trauma, Cerebravascular Quality and Spine Center Development Committees at Inova Fairfax Hospital, as well as the Osteobiologics Committee for Inova Hospitals and the North American Spine Society Practice Management Committee. Dr. Lim is the only member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) in Northern Virginia, and has been honored as a Northern Virginia Top Neurosurgeon in 2015 and 2010, in addition to being named one of America's Top Doctors from 2004 to 2006.
Dr. Lim is a credentialed spine surgeon at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA, Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA, and the Reston Hospital Center in Reston, VA.
