At Reston Hospital and HCA Healthcare, we care like family — and that care extends beyond our walls. Colleagues not only serve our community as clinicians and caregivers to our patients but volunteer their time in the community, finding meaningful ways to support one another and the greater good.

Reston Hospital was thrilled to recognize Jacob Westney, ICU, RN as our Volunteer of the Year for the 316 volunteer hours he logged last year, primarily as a volunteer firefighter. This is what our legacy of service looks like today: small and big moments of compassion and giving, multiplied across our collaborative network. Because of our scale and partnerships, we can learn, share and strengthen what works — helping to advance health and wellness as well as reinforcing the everyday kindness that makes our culture feel like family.

Reston Hospital takes very seriously its role in the community and the opportunities we have to serve, volunteer, give back, and partner with local organizations. We were proud to be able to present $5,000 to Cornerstones in addition to our Hope Level sponsorship to continue supporting their food pantry, homelessness services, and emergency financial aid for community members in both Fairfax and Loudoun counties.

"Cornerstones is such a well-run organization whose resources are able to help so many in our community. We appreciate being a partner and contributing to their mission whenever and however we can," said Henrietta Skeens, chief financial officer, Reston Hospital.
