Pediatric CT use increased substantially from the 1990s through the early 2010s, with some estimates showing a 2–3Γ— increase before recent stabilization efforts. While this trend signifies the remarkable progress we have made in technology, it raises eyebrows on the value, safety and the overall sustainability of pediatric imaging.

Mary Newell,MD, FACR, showing off a hard copy version of the new BI-RADS Version 2025 at the American College of Radiology (ACR) booth at RSNA. She served as a chair of the revision committee.

The last time these new breast imaging guidelines were updated was 2013, and a lot has changed, including 3D mammography systems now making up half of the systems used in the U.S. It contains new information on tomosythesis, breast ultrasound and MRI. .
