Colorectal cancer is rising among younger adults, and many are diagnosed at later stages. This makes early detection more important than ever.

CT colonography (CTC) is a safe, noninvasive screening option that doesn’t require sedation — a major advantage for busy, working‑age patients. With Medicare and many insurers now covering screening CTC, there's no better time for radiologists to expand CTC availability, educate patients and strengthen early detection nationwide.

This Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, learn how radiologists can make a meaningful difference in the fight against CRC. More from Kevin K. Chang, MD, FACR, in the blog (link in comments).

Pediatric CT use increased substantially from the 1990s through the early 2010s, with some estimates showing a 2–3× increase before recent stabilization efforts. While this trend signifies the remarkable progress we have made in technology, it raises eyebrows on the value, safety and the overall sustainability of pediatric imaging.

Our new blog explains why imaging overuse happens and what radiologists are doing to ensure pediatric patients get the safest, most appropriate care possible.
