HPI analyzed 1.3M Medicare imaging claims and found higher repeat imaging rates when interpreted by non-physician practitioners (NPPs) vs. radiologists.

🔍 Key Findings:
Radiography: 20.4% (NPP) vs. 14.6% (Radiologist)
Ultrasound: 11.6% vs. 4.5%
MRI: 8.8% vs. 3.8%

These findings reinforce the value of radiologist expertise in reducing avoidable imaging, improving accuracy, and lowering costs.
