Unlock your true potential and shatter the barriers that hold you back! Are you waiting for someone to fulfill a promise to you and its just not happening? Have you fulfilled all the promises you made to yourself? It's not so much that you are waiting in the wrong place,...the problem is you let someone put you there. When I realize that I am waiting for something that never comes, I step out and take action.

Don't wait in the desert. Don't let unfulfilled promises give you an excuse to wait for permisson. Pack your belongings and travel to where your ship is coming in. You are the one that makes it happen. You are the one who is invested in your success.

What is YOUR VALUE ? Ever doubted your worth or had someone question your pricing?

That happened to me the other day, and It made me think. I do not doubt my value as a therapist or life coach, but sometimes we don't really value who we are, and what we bring to the world.

I have worked in the counseling and coaching fields for over 30 years. During that time I attended multiple colleges and certification trainings, and completed over 6,000 hours of paid supervision. I've worked hard to develop my skills, overcome personal struggles, and help others do the same.

In California, in the 90s, I worked in a nonprofit inpatient addiction treatment program for over three years and for minimum wage. I commuted 100 miles a day over winding mountain roads. I learned a lot those three years. I learned how to be more confident. I learned to connect better with people. At that time I was in recovery from alcoholism for 6 years and I could still feel the rigors of early detox and recovery in my soul.

I bring this experience up because at this point in my training, I barely made my gas money for my trip to work. But I was determined and motivated to learn as much as I could, and to obtain certification and beyond. I I like to think I paid my "dues."

Over the years I have done many free counseling sessions and trauma processing sessions. I have worked for minimum wage or less, driven thousands of miles for free, given up weekends, and time with family, spent any extra money I had on furthering my skills. This is what it takes.

I bring over 30 years of experience in helping myself and others. I bring a history of my own motivation, determination and ability to walk through fire to get where I wanted to go. My value lies in my expertise, determination, and ability to walk the talk. 💕 So, what's your value? Invest in yourself and your goals - it's worth it! Do you have faith that you can successfully make a change?
What do you need to feel safe? Do you need a written schedule every day? Do you need a an alarm system on your cell phone? Do you need others to follow your schedule?

We often hear teachers saying to live in the moment. Don't worry about the future. These are good words and they have a lot of value. Really each day is a new beginning. We can plan it, but it may not come out the way we visualized it. Are you able to move forward anyway and not know the map or the potholes ahead?

Do you ever take the road less traveled? How often do you stay in your comfort zone and stay on the road you are familiar with? You know each curve and where the trees are. You know where all the potholes are, and believe there are no surprises . You may get to your destination and may not even remember the trip.

A good challenge is to take a different road to work. One you have never traveled before. you will probably notice that you just can't mindlessly travel along. You have to pay attention because you don't know where the traffic lights are, or the bumps in the road. If you take a road that you don't know, will you have the faith to do it anyway and look for the gold you may find along the way?

Have faith to make a change. Step out and see how that first step leads to a second step, and then a third.

I was looking at my calendar today and I realized that January 10 is an anniversary for me. I quit drinking over 43 years ago. It changed my life in a powerful way. In reflecting on this I realize how different I am now and how much more open I am to learning and growing and meeting and coaching new people. I was shy and introverted and self-destructive and a drunk.

There are many similar stories out there about changing your life for the better when you quit being dependent upon addictions. However, the number is small because addiction is so strong and takes such a hold on people. In the past 43 years I realize that I have worked hard to change, to grow, to heal traumas, to feel good about who I am.

I began work in the addictions field over 30 years ago when I realized that I was sober and that I wanted to help others heal. I am now a licensed, clinical counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist license, addictions counselor, a life coach hypnotherapist EMDR practitioner. The list goes on and on. And with each challenge that I faced, I had to go a little deeper into my fear, my insecurities, and change the way I think about myself.

When I talk about life coaching for longer-term sobriety, this is what I'm talking about. It's about much more than just not drinking or using. AA is a wonderful program but it's not all there is. As we stay and grow and change we have to be willing to release some of that old stuff.

I offer life coaching and sobriety coaching, to share what I've learned, and to support someone on their journey, as they change their life and live it anew. It's a very powerful process, but it is so worth it. When you can look at it yourself in the mirror and say "I love you" and feel good about who you are. There's so much you can accomplish.

Give me a call if you'd like to move forward in your sobriet journey. I've walked the walk, I've taken the journey, and I'm reaping the rewards and the peace that goes with it. Let's explore what your life will look like as you continue forward in your journey. I love the life you've always wanted.

THE DOOR IS LOCKED, I HAVE THE KEY. NO ONE CAN LET ME IN BUT ME. (Deborah Bressler, 1983)

Over the years I have had to make changes in my life that were challenging. I used to look for someone else to fix it. I believed I was a victim of my circumstances and my actions, and since it was me that got me in that position, I believed that I was stuck and could not help myself.

I wrote this year's ago in my journal while sitting in the grass at college. It was a hard time of transition. I was going to college, going through a divorce, my father was dying, and I was an active alcoholic. But when I wrote this down in my journal, I knew it was the truth. It was up to me. I have used this simple phrase over the years to remind me that I'm the one that holds the key. I can have help from others, but it's up to me to unlock the door.

Today I am in another cycle of transition. I have over 40 years of sobriety now from alcoholism. I have completed my bachelors degree, masters degree, and multiple certifications that allow me to offer support to a client in a unique way. I still have to remind myself and read this statement occasionally. I believe that if you choose to find a way to unlock the door, it will be revealed to you. You can visualize the world for yourself that you have never even dreamed of. You have the power. We all have the power. We can have helpers, but we have made the choices to change our life. I have been a therapist and life coach for over 30 years and and I can tell when a client decides to take a leap and make the big changes. It is so beautiful to watch.

I encourage you to unlock the door, from where you are right now. Be truly afraid and do it anyway. That's how we move forward. That's how I continue to move forward.

As your Life Coach, I will walk beside you and support you in creating, and living the life you want to live. I can't do it for you. I don't want to. But if you would like some support from a coach who has walked the path, please contact me at Inner Fire Life Coaching, www.innerfirelifecoaching.net, innerfirelifecoach@gmail.com or call me at 406-270-9286. SOMETIMES IT FEELS LIKE A BALANCING ACT

One of the biggest challenges about making a decision is..... making the decision. In our indecision, we may feel like we are in a tornado. We go deeper and deeper into emotion and fear and may feel despair and overwhelm. You may have people telling you what to do, or what not to do. Memories and mistakes in your past can affect you in your life today. Maybe you don't want to dissappoint anyone.

There are many factors that can influence your inability to make a decision. Making a decision requires that you be willing to look at the possibilities of success or failure. Or finding a new direction. Many people, myself included, start off searching for something then they get there and they find that it's not what they want. We can put a lot of time and energy into this. I have met people who have completed graduate school and, when they begin to work in their chosen field, they realize they don't like it. They feel shame and regret, and possibly guilt for spending all that money and time learning some thing they really don't care about now.

Sometimes it's difficult to realize that finding out what you DON'T want is just as important as finding out what you DO want. That education is not wasted. You have a toolbox with all the experience and education. There are plenty of other careers where this experience would be valuable.

You are not alone in this. Call me, Deborah Bressler at Inner Fire Life Coaching. I will walk beside you as we sort this out and I will support you as you find your place in the world. Limitiations exist in our minds and can hold us back. Feel the fear and do it anyway. www.innerfirelifecoach.net, innerfirelifecoach@gmail.com, 406-270-9286
