THE DOOR IS LOCKED, I HAVE THE KEY. NO ONE CAN LET ME IN BUT ME. (Deborah Bressler, 1983)

Over the years I have had to make changes in my life that were challenging. I used to look for someone else to fix it. I believed I was a victim of my circumstances and my actions, and since it was me that got me in that position, I believed that I was stuck and could not help myself.

I wrote this year's ago in my journal while sitting in the grass at college. It was a hard time of transition. I was going to college, going through a divorce, my father was dying, and I was an active alcoholic. But when I wrote this down in my journal, I knew it was the truth. It was up to me. I have used this simple phrase over the years to remind me that I'm the one that holds the key. I can have help from others, but it's up to me to unlock the door.

Today I am in another cycle of transition. I have over 40 years of sobriety now from alcoholism. I have completed my bachelors degree, masters degree, and multiple certifications that allow me to offer support to a client in a unique way. I still have to remind myself and read this statement occasionally. I believe that if you choose to find a way to unlock the door, it will be revealed to you. You can visualize the world for yourself that you have never even dreamed of. You have the power. We all have the power. We can have helpers, but we have made the choices to change our life. I have been a therapist and life coach for over 30 years and and I can tell when a client decides to take a leap and make the big changes. It is so beautiful to watch.

I encourage you to unlock the door, from where you are right now. Be truly afraid and do it anyway. That's how we move forward. That's how I continue to move forward.

As your Life Coach, I will walk beside you and support you in creating, and living the life you want to live. I can't do it for you. I don't want to. But if you would like some support from a coach who has walked the path, please contact me at Inner Fire Life Coaching, www.innerfirelifecoaching.net, innerfirelifecoach@gmail.com or call me at 406-270-9286. SOMETIMES IT FEELS LIKE A BALANCING ACT

One of the biggest challenges about making a decision is..... making the decision. In our indecision, we may feel like we are in a tornado. We go deeper and deeper into emotion and fear and may feel despair and overwhelm. You may have people telling you what to do, or what not to do. Memories and mistakes in your past can affect you in your life today. Maybe you don't want to dissappoint anyone.

There are many factors that can influence your inability to make a decision. Making a decision requires that you be willing to look at the possibilities of success or failure. Or finding a new direction. Many people, myself included, start off searching for something then they get there and they find that it's not what they want. We can put a lot of time and energy into this. I have met people who have completed graduate school and, when they begin to work in their chosen field, they realize they don't like it. They feel shame and regret, and possibly guilt for spending all that money and time learning some thing they really don't care about now.

Sometimes it's difficult to realize that finding out what you DON'T want is just as important as finding out what you DO want. That education is not wasted. You have a toolbox with all the experience and education. There are plenty of other careers where this experience would be valuable.

You are not alone in this. Call me, Deborah Bressler at Inner Fire Life Coaching. I will walk beside you as we sort this out and I will support you as you find your place in the world. Limitiations exist in our minds and can hold us back. Feel the fear and do it anyway. www.innerfirelifecoach.net, innerfirelifecoach@gmail.com, 406-270-9286

Comfort Zone is defined as a safe place or hiding place where not a lot of growth happens. When I think about my comfort zone, I think about a place where I don't have to take a lot of risk. Are you in a place in your career where you're not really happy but you are good at what you do. You have a desire to change and grow but It takes a willingness to take a risk and step into a place you haven't been before.

Recently, I had the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone. I was invited to a business networking meeting. It was where I would meet new people and tell about me and my business. Now I'm comfortable and I love what I do but I am also an introvert. Stepping out like this was a challenge. I thought up reasons that I could not go to the meeting. But in the end I made the commitment and got up at 4:30 in the morning to be able to drive an hour and a half and get there in time for the meeting. I enjoyed it an came away feeling positive and uplifted.

Many people live their lifetime eating the same food, wearing the same clothes, never traveling out of their town, not willing to take a risk because it might be "too scary". I have found that, for me, staying in my comfort zone or bubble, puts a glass ceiling over my life. It limits where I want to go and what I want to experience. I'm not saying, I'm fearless, but I try to practice "feeling the fear and doing it anyway".

What holds you back from moving forward? What are the borders of your Comfort Zone (i.e. where do you feel safe and what does it look or feel like)? Do you have a dream or a goal but don't know how to move towards it?

To move forward, we have to change patterns. Do things to shake it up a bit. For example: take a different route to work; change your morning routine, put your make-up on in a different order. Do these kind of changes for a week and see how you feel. This will change your brain and your perspective.

If you want to talk about it, call me, Deborah, at Inner Fire Life Coaching for a free 15-minute consultation. Maybe this is the start of something beautiful. 406-270-9286, innerfirelifecoach@gmail.com, www.innerfirelifecoaching@gmail.com." rel="ugc" target="_blank">www.innerfirelifecoaching@gmail.com.
