No matter your religion or belief system, it’s no secret that in first responder families, we have to be flexible in how and when we celebrate holidays.

Last night my husband was working. So, during his goodnight call with our boys we lit the candles on the Menorahs and said the prayers for the first night of Hanukkah.

Tonight, we will do it the same way. We will celebrate the miracle of Hanukkah.

My heart goes out to the families of those who were injured and murdered, and all who are impacted, from an act of cowardice and hatred at both Bondi Beach and Brown University.

As we move forward into the first day of Hanukkah, I hope the light from our Menorah’s brings you all feelings of warmth, healing, and peace.

I know there aren’t many who agree with me, but I LOVE the snow and cold weather; I always have. We did our typical day trip to Cleveland yesterday to see family and my 3 year old told me he wanted to play in the snow. We got bundled up, headed outside, and then he wanted to make his first snowman.

I have a lot to be thankful for. Watching his imagination and creativity grow and seeing his excitement when he accomplishes something is one of the things I am thankful for the most.

I hope you all had a gentle and healthy Thanksgiving this year 🙏🏻
