This week, 20 Astor Services employees traveled to Saratoga Springs for the 2025 Best Practices and Workforce Development Training hosted by the New York State Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health. Astor was proud to lead four workshops, sharing our expertise and lessons learned in implementing Home Based Crisis Intervention, the Trauma Recovery Center model, and our work in Data Analytics.
In addition, five Astor staff members were recognized as “Employees of the Year,” and our own Yvette Bairan—Board Chair of the NYS Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health—had the honor of presenting their awards.

Astor Services is hiring a School Based Clinician for Sullivan County Schools. This position will be located in the Fallsburg CSD and will be responsible for the delivery of outpatient clinical services to clients. Responsible for services such as assessment, clinical intervention, consultation and education to school professionals, and advocacy and referral to needed services for children deemed as at-risk. The students at Astor Services' Lawrence F. Hickey Center enjoyed a fantastic Thanksgiving Feast this week. Our wonderful staff prepared delicious dishes and desserts, and we took time to honor our students, families, program, and well-being. It was a day full of gratitude and joy, and we made some truly special memories together.

Volunteers from Astor Services, Catholic Charities of New York, Best Care Home Care joined Fordham University undergraduate students and staff from the Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) for a turkey-and-trimmings giveaway in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx last week.
