Today, The Brookmeade Community proudly celebrates International Women’s Day by recognizing the incredible women who help make our community such a special place. From caregivers and nurses to culinary staff, housekeeping, administration, activities, and so many other roles, these dedicated women bring compassion, strength, and kindness to our residents and to one another every single day.

The Brookmeade Scholarship Program was founded by our visionary leaders in an effort to train, support, and encourage individuals pursuing careers in the healthcare profession.

Zaynah Suleiman, CNA, has been awarded a $10,000 Brookmeade Scholarship to support her journey toward becoming a Registered Nurse at Mount Saint Mary College.

Zaynah’s story is one of dedication, growth, and heart. She began her career with us as a Dietary Server, advanced to Hospitality Aide, then to CNA — and now she’s taking the next step into nursing school. Her commitment to learning, serving, and continuously improving herself truly embodies our mission and values.

Today at The Meadows, we were treated to a very special Ice Cream Social generously provided by Del’s Farmhouse Creamery 🍦

This meaningful gathering was held in loving memory of Rita, a cherished past resident, and served as a heartfelt thank you to both our dedicated staff and wonderful residents for all they do each day.

Nicole, a member of Del's family, along with Rita’s daughter Jill, personally scooped and served ice cream to residents and staff. They took the time to thank everyone individually, making the afternoon even more touching and memorable. Their kindness and gratitude truly warmed our hearts.

On behalf of The Brookmeade Community, we extend our sincere thanks to Nicole and Jill for honoring Rita’s memory in such a beautiful way and for spreading sweetness and appreciation throughout our community. 💛

Last Monday we had the honor of celebrating Karen Robinson’s retirement after 35 years of dedicated service as a CNA at Brookmeade. Prior to her healthcare career, Karen proudly served in the U.S. Air Force — a lifelong commitment to service that was reflected every day in the compassion and care she provided to our residents.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us. We were also honored to receive proclamations recognizing Karen’s contributions from Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino and Senator Michelle Hinchey .

Karen’s impact on residents, families, and coworkers will continue to be felt for years to come. Thank you, Karen, for everything you’ve given to this community, and best wishes for a wonderful retirement filled with travel, gardening, family time, and plenty of great coffee! 💙
