We’re ready for our Hip Blueprint Workshop 🔥

Today at 10am, right here at the clinic, we’re diving deep into how we actually assess hip pain — using objective data, not guesswork.

Tools and gadgets are only as good as the strategy behind them. I’ll be showing participants how we use our VALD hand-held dynamometer to quantify hip strength, identify side-to-side asymmetries, and establish real baselines you can track over time. This is the same type of data-driven approach physical therapists use to guide clinical decision-making and get people out of pain safely and efficiently.

Beyond the tech, we’re breaking down a comprehensive hip assessment framework:

• How hip weakness or movement limitations contribute to low back pain

• Why pain often shows up somewhere else when the hip isn’t doing its job

• How objective strength data guides smarter programming and progressions

• What “normal” vs. “problematic” actually looks like in real humans

Today I installed something special in the clinic — a framed time-piece poster of one of our athletes, Andrea Engel, and her incredible dog Levin, capturing their run at the 2025 IFSS Dryland World Championships.

I had the absolute pleasure of watching them compete in person. The speed, precision, and connection between Andrea and Levin was unreal — a perfect example of what happens when an athlete fully commits to their craft.

Moments like this are why I love what we do.
As physical therapists, our job isn’t just to fix pain — it’s to optimize the human body so people can chase the things they love, set high goals, and boldly work toward them.

Proud of Andrea, proud of Levin, and proud to have this piece of memorabilia hanging in our space as a reminder of what dedication looks like.

If you’re dealing with nagging pain, inconsistent performance, or feeling like your form just keeps breaking down… there are three fundamentals most injured runners overlook:

1. You’re not sleeping enough.
Your nervous system drives your mechanics. When recovery drops, form falls apart—no matter how “good” your technique is.

2. You’re not adjusting your training appropriately.
Most runners change nothing when workload spikes or when life stress kicks in. Your body can’t adapt if the plan never adjusts.

3. You’re not doing specific strength work.
Not generic lifting—targeted strength that supports the demands of your personal mechanics. This is often the missing piece between recurring injury and real progress.

These three principles come straight from Dr. Felicia, who addresses them with every patient she works with. And they’re exactly why so many runners stay stuck in the injury cycle even when they “fix” their form.

Be safe out there, friends! ❄️

Today is the final day for our Halloween mugs before we officially shift into Christmas decorations and snow-season gear.

Our team at Motivation Health & Wellness loves winter and the holidays — even though it also happens to be the time of year when injuries tend to spike.

But that won’t stop us from doing the things we enjoy, and it shouldn’t stop you either.

If you’ve got pain or an injury that needs attention, we still have a few spots open in our open enrollment deals through Friday the 28th.

Don’t suffer in silence. Don’t wait until it gets worse.
