✨Horse of the Week: Meet Svali ✨

"Greetings, my friends… I am Svali frá Enni 🐴
Born in Iceland on 1/1/1990… which makes me 36 years young, and yes, I carry every year with quiet pride.

I traveled far in my lifetime, from Iceland to California, and then to Nature’s Edge in 2002, thanks to the kindness of David and Heidi Kline. And from that moment on… this became my home.

As a registered Icelandic horse, I have six gaits, including my smooth and steady tölt. In my younger years, I carried many riders and supported therapy sessions with strength and confidence.

Now, I’ve stepped into a different role.

While I am no longer being ridden, I remain deeply involved through equine-assisted therapy activities. Patients love to walk alongside me, talk with me, and simply be in my presence—and I take great care in those moments. Sometimes, healing doesn’t require riding… just connection.

I am the leader of the pasture, still playing hard with Sonny and keeping a watchful eye over my herd. And yes… I may still play a little game of “tag” when it’s time to be caught—I believe even the wisest horse should have a little fun 😌

I have little fear, steady footing, and a heart that understands. I meet each person exactly where they are, offering calm, strength, and trust.

And even now… I can still run freely across this property, just as I always have 💨

✨ Your support helps horses like me continue to live healthy, meaningful lives—long after our riding days are done.
✨ It allows us to keep giving… in quieter, but just as powerful ways.

💛 Would you consider supporting me and my herd during the Horses for Mental Health Campaign?

Because sometimes, the greatest impact comes not from what we do…
but from simply being there."

🐷 Dinner Time with Olo & Daisy!🥣

A brand new video from ReelTime Animal Rescue, LLC is now live, giving you another behind-the-scenes look at therapy in action at Nature’s Edge!

In this special session, one of our patients helps prepare and serve dinner for our therapy pigs, Olo and Daisy. While completing this meaningful real-life task, the patient practiced following multi-step directions, using clear speech, problem-solving, and strengthening communication skills in a fun and motivating environment.

Caring for animals creates natural opportunities for growth, confidence, and learning that carry beyond the therapy room and into everyday life. ❤️🐷

✨ Why We Joined the Horses for Mental Health Campaign ✨

The countdown is on, just 15 days until the Horses for Mental Health Campaign launches on May 1st! We’re honored to be selected as a Program Partner alongside organizations around the world. 🌎🐴

At Nature’s Edge, we support mental wellness through medically prescribed speech therapy in a unique nature-based setting with horses. Our services help individuals build emotional regulation, express feelings, improve communication, and gain confidence. 💛🌿

Your support helps us:
🐴 Provide essential wellness care for therapy horses
💚 Sustain quality therapy sessions
✨ Keep services accessible for children, adults, veterans, and families

And the best part? Every dollar raised stays right here at Nature’s Edge.

🌹 Horse of the Week: Meet Rose 🌹

"Hello friends… I’m Rose 💗
A 22-year-young LPS Classic Rare Paint, and I’ve had quite the journey to find my way right back home.

I first came to Nature’s Edge when I was just one year old, just a young filly with a lot to learn and a big world ahead of me. I was trained and shown by our director (yes, I had my show days 💁♀️), but when therapy work felt a little overwhelming for me back then, I found a quiet 4H home where I could thrive one-on-one.

But here’s the special part…
At 19 years old, I was given the chance to come back home 🐴

And something amazing happened.

With time, patience, and understanding, I found my confidence.
Now, I love being part of therapy. I enjoy connecting with patients, supporting their movement through hippotherapy, and being part of something bigger than myself.

I may be a little shy with my herd… but with people?
I show up with my whole heart and my “I can do it” attitude every single day 💕

At 14 hands tall with my splashy paint coat, I may not be the biggest, but I promise, I give BIG support where it matters most.

✨ Your support helps horses like me stay healthy, happy, and able to continue changing lives.
✨ Every donation supports our care, wellness, and the therapy we help provide.

💛 Would you consider supporting me and my friends during the Horses for Mental Health Campaign in May?"
