Comet Giving Days begins April 7–8 !⭐️

The Student Counseling Center is here for UTD students, meeting students in some of their most vulnerable moments when they’re overwhelmed or unsure where to turn, even in the quiet, everyday moments. Through offering counseling, crisis support, workshops, psychiatry, outreach, we provide a space where people can feel heard, supported, and not alone.🫂

Comet Giving Days help make these resources more accessible. Your support goes directly toward supporting UTD students’ mental health. We hope to raise funds for Mental Health Care Scholarships🎓, S.T.A.R.S. Peer Support Community⭐️, better snacks and giveaways at outreach events🥨, and more.☄️☄️☄️☄️✨💫

There are many ways to for Comets Giving Days. Every little bit of support whether it’s a donation, a share, or sharing your story with mental health on campus matters! 💫

In reflection from our post about Anxiety and our posts about Mindfulness, we made this 1-minute guided mindful walk video for our busy Comets.

This video shows us how we can begin to listen to our body and exist in our whole body. Through showing up for ourselves and mindfully so, we step out of our autopilot and into our consciousness and present moment.

🍃Stillness reveals what rushing hides.
Mindfulness can be found in small daily practices and help discover tranquility in our fast-paced routines.
We invite you to challenge yourself to slow down and take notice of the things around you. What can you notice?

Mental Health Symposium recap 3.31.2026

03/29/2026

Join us for the 2026 Mental Health Symposium: Exploring the Dimensions of Community & Connection emphasizes the role of community in mental health and wellbeing.

Tuesday, March 31
9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stream available

The Symposium centers the understanding that mental health is shaped not only by individual experiences, but by the relationships, systems, and environments in which people live and learn. Community and connection are both protective factors as well as pathways to healing, especially in a time when isolation, resource gaps and systemic stressors are increasingly common.

This will be the first year we have:
Poster session abstracts from UTD students
AND a presentation from UTD students!!

We love seeing our Comets' brilliance, inspiring talents, and contributions to research and practice. Come see, learn, ask, and exchange ideas!

Snacks and drinks provided while supplies last.
