Whole-heartedly agree. Mental health can feel less like a taboo or scary when there are open and honest conversations about it.

Today, we honor and remember the Trans lives lost to violence, discrimination, and hate. We hold space for grief, but also for resilience, community, and the ongoing fight for safety and dignity.

At Overcoming Miles Counseling, we affirm that Trans lives matter. Always. Every person deserves to be seen, respected, and celebrated for who they are. Our commitment is to continue creating spaces where authenticity is met with compassion, and identity is met with affirmation.

To our Trans clients, friends, and community members: your existence is powerful, your truth is valid, and your life has meaning.

We do our part to honor those we’ve lost by building a world where all Trans people can live openly, safely, and joyfully.

At Overcoming Miles Counseling, we believe that kindness is the foundation of every healthy relationship — whether between romantic partners, family members, or within ourselves.

Kindness in relationships isn’t just about grand gestures; it’s about the small, consistent moments of care that build trust and connection over time. I

Kindness can look like:
- Listening to understand, not to respond or win.
- Offering grace when your partner or child is struggling.
- Remembering that love and compassion can coexist with boundaries.
- Allowing yourself to rest when needed.

Speaking to yourself with the same gentleness you give to others
Today and every day, let’s practice kindness as a daily act of love — one that helps our families, partnerships, and communities grow stronger.

Healing and connection happens one kind mile at a time.

As comes to a close, we recognize and celebrate the contributions of bisexual people in social work and beyond. Bisexual people have always been part of our workforce and our movements. Yet they continue to face erasure, stigma, and exclusion in both cis-heteronormative and 2SLGBTQIA+ spaces. must ensure our practice reflects inclusion, affirmation, and the full dignity of bi+ clients, colleagues, and communities.

Did you know? A person’s recovery journey is often deeply connected to the healing process of their entire family or relationship.

That’s why LMFTs are uniquely trained to support individuals within the context of the systems they live in—whether that’s a couple, a family, or a broader support network.

LMFTs don't just focus on one person’s story—they help facilitate recovery in a way that brings collective healing to everyone involved.

It's National đź’ś
