Meltzer Counseling is privileged to support and participate in the DFW Behavioral Symposium. It was an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in behavioral health in the country and to keep up with advances and relevant issues that help our clients. So much learning, so much connection. The community is strong. We look forward to this every year. It was an incredible privilege to meet with and learn from Claudia Black. Her recent book Undaunted Hope is inspiring. We had the opportunity to hear from Jaime Vinck, the president of the Meadows and author of The Rehab Playbook. Her passion to bring clinical excellence is clear. Vanessa Pike from BasePoint spoke on how best to support our young adults who are experiencing an increase in serious mental health issues. We had a rare opportunity to hear Dr Umar Latif from Enterhealth and the Noesis clinic to speak on functional psychiatry and how mainstream is often missing critical ways to improve mental health, overall wellness and even dementia. Janice Harris Lord gave a compelling talk on how to support families after su***de. Her book Goodbyes, The many Faces of Grief following a Traumatic Death has been translated in other languages. We were all wrapped in her wisdom and presence. We were also so fortunate to have Dr James Boone from LaHacienda and All Saints speak on current drug trends along with Dr Sejal Mehta on Psychadelics. All of these speakers are valuable resources to improve clinical care. Go to DFWBHS.com to learn more about the conference and how to participate for next year.
