Meltzer Counseling clinician highlight: We are so fortunate to have Ethel Wandeka as a Graduate Intern Therapist supervised by Jane Kong LPC-S. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology after years of clinical work in Uganda.
Ethel works with children (ages 7 and up), adolescents, and adults, and has several years of clinicial experience supporting clients presenting with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, health concerns and substance use-related issues.
Her clinical approach is client-centered and culturally responsive, incorporating evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, as appropriate to the client’s needs. Ethel focuses on helping clients build coping skills, emotional regulation, and insight to support meaningful growth and emotional well-being. She has been providing clinical services in Uganda since 2018 and has a breadth of experience. She is able to offer reduced fees to improve access to care.
