Meltzer Counseling is privileged to be able to support hundreds of clients, their families and the community. There are a multitude of ways to make a difference. Grand acts are not necessary. Small acts of kindness can have an immense ripple effect beyond what we can know. Meltzer Counseling is providing telehealth for all ages throughout Texas. Several in person availabilities in our Richardson, TX offices. All clinicians are trained in “Nonviolent Communication “ or NVC, communication that cultivates connection and decreases defensiveness. Connection, community and secure relationships are often highly associated with wellbeing. Clinicians also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): helping clients change their relationship with difficult thoughts, feelings and situations and allow for more space to respond in ways that are more helpful. Healthy connection, increased perspective and psychological flexibility may not solve all our issues, however they may very well improve our ability to engage in life and relationships in more meaningful ways. Clinicians have experience with couples and relationship counseling, anxiety counseling, depression, grief counseling, trauma, eating disorders and anger management. We have availability for our FREE Family Tree program, up to 12 sessions for families with minor children in Dallas and Denton counties. Many appointments within 3 to 5 business days. Meltzer Counseling is privileged to be part of a collaborative community. Every Friday we participate with Richland Oaks Counseling for a 2 hour case consult. It’s an opportunity to support and learn from each other. Last Friday we were so fortunate to have DeeDee Whitt and Shenella Karunaratne from Reflections Lifestyle centers. We really appreciate treatment centers bringing in Clinicians so we can learn more about what clients’ experiences will be like in higher levels of care. Reflections serves adolescents, adults and has specific programming for clients in the LGBTQ+ community. They incorporate lifestyle pillars in the curriculum to help clients improve and sustain overall wellbeing. We are absolutely better together and continue to learn from each other.
