Our Belize mission team will be in Orange Walk this weekend! Our volunteers will provide cleft lip and palate surgeries and hand surgeries. This is our last mission for 2025. We’re excited to share that Missy Wyszynski has joined LEAP’s Board of Directors! Missy served as LEAP’s Director of Development from 2014-2017. She is the co-founder of Ashlar Projects and is a leader in the marketing and community relations industry. As a marketing strategist, Missy has worked on community impact projects as well as some of the most significant real estate developments in Texas. Beyond her professional career, Missy is deeply committed to community service and has contributed her time and talents to several non-profit organizations, such as Cattle Baron’s Ball, Klyde Warren Park, and DEC My Room, among others.

We will be returning to Belize this week with Dr. James Suen and Dr. Alejandra Garcia de Mitchell. Good comes from good, and our involvement in Ukraine led us to get to know Dr. Suen, who is an amazing surgeon and humanitarian. Dr. Garcia de Mitchell, LEAP's Medical Director, will connect with our partners and will discuss Northern Regional Hospital's new pediatric ward, which was made possible through the generosity of LEAP's donors.

Our Zimbabwe team is home! What a blessing to LEAP to have such dedicated volunteers. Seeing the smiles of these children and their families reminds us how impactful our missions are. Big thanks to our friends at Celebration Health, Sally Mugabe Central Hospital, and Shumiro Sarah Crystal Magandi Trust for their kindness and hospitality!

Our Zimbabwe mission team has had a busy schedule this week with 60 children receiving life-changing cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries.
